Heating oil

last year moved into property that uses heating oil, have called around for a couple of quotes and tried to google but not sure if the prices being quoted are cheap or expensive! Been quoted £375 for 600L, for those who are used to heating oil, does this sound reasonable ?

I paid .54ppl around a month ago but ordered a 1000L. If you order a larger quantity you may get it cheaper, that's if your able to.

Sounds fine to me. We just paid £728 for 1250l
Prices are going up again.
As PP said the more you order the better deal you get.
Also I would suggest to look for local sindicates as they tend to get better prices.

I was looking at prices the other day and it seemed to be around 55p per litre ( plus 5% vat). Last time I bought oil it was 70p per litre. My supplier usually offers a better price for a higher number of litres.

Use boiler juice as a starting point and see if anyone will go lower - for what it's worth I'm in the same position as you and have just placed an order for 1000, I've not a clue but it seems reasonable compared to what it has been!

I have just posted in this group about the ECO4 scheme. Have a look

Because you are on heating oil you may qualify for a government grant to change your heating to a heat pump and solar panels. This is to help save people on money and get away from oil and gas onto renewables. The government have targets they are nowhere near hitting so are giving money away!

If you receive any benefits, including child benefit which everyone with children gets, you may qualify. Or if you earn less than £31k as a household in some areas.

If you have any questions please ask me

If you're still on the hunt for the best pricing, consider reaching out to a few more suppliers in your area to see if you can find a better offer. Sometimes, calling around or even checking online can uncover hidden gems in terms of pricing and services offered.
Also, maintaining your HVAC system in top-notch condition can also play a significant role in managing your heating costs. A well-maintained system operates more efficiently, which can lead to lower overall heating expenses. Plus, regular maintenance helps prevent unexpected breakdowns, saving you both money and headaches in the long run.
I recently came across a helpful resource at buckscountyfuel.com that dives into the importance of HVAC maintenance and its impact on heating costs.
