Universal credit - nurse backdatedpay HELP

So for some context I'm a band 6 nurse working 16 hours. As I'm sure we're all aware of the nursing strikes recently we're expected to get our lump sum of backdated pay next month. I'm a single parent, I get universal credit and I am panicking. I'm going to put a message on my journal before anyone says but I just wanted to know if anyone's going to be in the same position.

Does this lump sum get taken off what we will get from UC? I'm worried that it will take me over the threshold and my universal credit account will be automatically closed and then I'll have to apply again?!

Contact your payroll. Our trust will break the payment down into smaller chunks for you and pay it over several months, yours might do the same?

Oh brilliant thank you! Hopefully my trust is the same.

My Trust has issued an offer to spread your payments over 10 months. You'll have to submit a request.
