UC Increase

I am feeling slightly gutted as I checked in to my UC account and the increase hasn’t been applied yet. It will only apply for the first full assessment period after April 10th. I had thought it went through this month. Just in case anyone has similar expectations.

It’s actually a really big increase for me it should go from £450ish to £650ish. I think if I’ve done my sums right.

I do not think you've done your sums right unless you are getting an extra element added for some reason. Your sums indicate a 50+ % increase rather than 10%

Although I guess the work allowance is rising too.

I’m entitled now to £1350 but they knock off about £900 off due to earnings. I worked out that entitlement would go up to nearly £1500 ( increase of 10%) they’d knock off £850 ish due to increased work allowance off the higher amount which should leave £650ish which does seem like a whopping increase percentage wise.

If your award includes rent element, I'm not sure that is going up if private rented as local housing rates haven't risen.

My total claim is about £900 and will increase by £90. I have £600 taken off for work so the amount paid will go from £300 to £390 so a 30% increase. The increase will be a different percentage for many.

My question is.... Does anyone know, will the increase be backdated to 10th April when it is paid. Looking at the dates that have been set out, I am not expecting payment of any increase until June.

I don't think they are backdating it. I read it will apply from the first calculation period after the 10th of April.
