Selling on Vinted.. how do you do labels?

Just that really. Do you have a label printer? Or is printing it on paper and putting into one of those clear plastic sticky envelopes ok? I've got loads of stuff to sell but the label thing is stressing me.
Do I need to invest in a label printer? I'd have to sell quite a bit to cover the cost of one.

I just print it on paper and put sellotape around the outside of it...I don't cover the whole label. Not had any issues with deliveries and have sold quite a few bits.

I just use the shipping options that don't need a label which tbf is most of them - evri, inpost, and yodel don't need them and even royal mail are doing an offer atm whereby if you buy postage from them they'll come and pick it up from your house and bring the label for you.

If I absolutely need a label the local library does a print out for about 20p.

Thank you 😊. I looked at the labels on the (many) 😳items I've bought and all the labels are the printed sticky ones.
If I use Evri/yodel do they print it for you in the shop?

Just print it and sellotape it on. Print it in the shop

TokyoSushi · 05/04/2023 16:35

Yes either print on paper & sellotape or print it at the shop, it's really easy, don't let that worry you at all!

CatherineCawoodsScarf · 05/04/2023 16:37

With Evri/Yodel you get given a QR code and in the shop they scan it, print it off onto a sticky label and stick it on. Tbh I think you can do it with Royal Mail now too.

maximist · 05/04/2023 16:38

Sellotape round a paper label is fine. Best not to tape over the bar codes though.

Mutabiliss · 05/04/2023 16:52

So if you're doing it in the shop, do you just write the address on the bag and then print it there and stick on (assuming you have multiple parcels)? Otherwise how do you know which parcel is which?

Up until recently you needed to pre print Vinted labels yourself, even though couriers may have ‘print in store’, the Vinted prepaid label needed to be printed by the seller

Recently Vinted added to their options, therefore Evri is selected a seller can either print the label or use a QR code (this of course means that you need to drop off at a facility with print in store)

Personaly I prefer to print myself, I recycle boxes either from what I have received or I also use delivery boxes, bubble wrap etc from my friends shops, and use black bin bags as an outer layer. I do use a lot of tape, and will print the label on standard paper stuck to the package.
I don’t use the clear address window envelopes, but I will tape across the address for some weather proofing

I got caught out as I selected print at home, but then my printer was out of ink. There was no way then to get a QR code.

Thanks everyone I feel confident enough to take the plunge now.

Yes, both of these do in my area.

SparklingChampagneAndStrawberries · 13/04/2023 14:56

We already had a label maker so I use that. Otherwise I’d have just bought one, hopefully second hand.

I have been selling alot on vinted. I use small white sticky labels and write what is in the parcel and which courier. Then when I'm in the shop I can find the correct qr code easily.

Another trick to print quickly is screenshotting all the qr codes so I don't need to faff going through vinted or if my signal is bad.
