Ours is expensive and not brilliant (we have always had WiFi problems here but that’s probably didn’t our location).

anyway - we have Sky and I have been looking at alternative providers (3 and Vodaphone are options along with Shell and some others I’ve never heard of). Are they much of a muchness? Is there a lot of difference beyond customer service with packages?

Use uSwitch to work out the cheapest provider in your area. We are with Talk talk, no issues whatsoever.

I just joined giganet, 3 months free and price is not bad

Shell is coming up quite cheap - but has 3/10 for customer service and are not on Ofcom compensation scheme, so I’m not sure if the service will be poor and the customer helpline will just blow a raspberry at me if I try to complain.

We've moved from BT to Now (which is part of Sky) dropped from what was going to be over £50 per month from 1st April to £21 per month. The range isn't as good so got some extenders for one room but the rest of the house is just as good as with BT.

Looked at Shell as this was even cheaper but the reviews put me off.

We're with BT full fibre and it is very good. We were with Virgin and it was awful. We always get a deal and at the end of the contract I just ring them up and ask for a good price to stay and they always oblige. If they don't come somewhere near, I just switch elsewhere.

Moneysaving Expert is a good place to start with what providers and deals are available, tips on haggling etc.
