I often use these to get a discount on an online shop, but recently they all seem to have vanished. Any idea what's going on there?

Mine haven’t vanished, simply reduced in value. 50p each now compared with up to £3.50 to start with.

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/03/2023 10:06

I was meaning the ones for e.g. £24 off a £120 shop etc

UnattendedPotato · 05/03/2023 11:13

If you have the card and shop often enough they come in the post, but I've noticed they are less frequent (quarterly not monthly), lower value, and shorter validity. E.G.: my last set arrived end of January and all expired 12.02. 6 vouchers of £8off £60 in person or £100 delivery to be used in 14 days!

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/03/2023 11:37

You can also find those online, they start MW for My Waitrose I think.

I was regularly getting these via this Coupert voucher finding site, up to the last few weeks.

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/03/2023 11:45

I was regularly getting £20 + off the weekly shop and it was allowing some treats!

I might try Ocado and see if they have any.

You can get quite a good shop if you fill up on the budget lines then use these codes!

The Waitrose money off vouchers have become totally shit recently - 50p off something I had no intention of ever buying anyway! I'm buying more stuff at Aldi these days do Waitrose do need to incentivise a bit.

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/03/2023 12:12

I just tried Ocado online but their vouchers were just for first shops.

Disappointing.

OP posts:
BigBoysDontCry · 05/03/2023 12:13

Ime, when you shop often they stop sending the vouchers as why would they? You are shopping there anyway. If you switch between different shops they try to entice you back.

Last time I got vouchers I ended up only using one of the 6. I'm pretty done with waitrose to be honest. There are a few things I like from there but I struggle to do a full shop in ours. To be fair it's not huge but I find a lot of their stuff pretty bland.

Orangesandlemons77 · 05/03/2023 12:18

Maybe we could share good vouchers / money off codes as they can sometimes me quite good.

Iceland can be quite good with money off and free delivery but quite a lot of branded stuff and of course, frozen.

I need a delivery to a top flat so limited to online really. might check sainsbury's for a change.

Yes, I do think I'm going to stop using my Waitrose card for a bit do they can't track what I'm spending in there. I do still have to go for the cat food and a few bits that Aldi don't sell but some of their pricing is ridiculous and they don't deserve the business

Yes I agree. They reduced their vouchers to 50p when they brought in more offers. It's really annoying having to dick around with my phone at the till all for a huge £1 off a weekly shop! So I have decided I can't cary on shopping there. There's not much incentive, except food quality is generally better, but we can't afford it any more so Aldi it is.

GooseberryCinnamonYogurt · 10/03/2023 08:36

The vouchers are on the app now. But tbh aren't worth bothering with.

Orangesandlemons77 · 10/03/2023 08:54

I am really missing the e.g. £20 off a £100 online shop, as I was using these weekly.

OP posts:
ImAvingOops · 10/03/2023 11:09

I think Aldi is comparable for most things tbh. I do buy meat in Waitrose because I think they possibly have higher welfare standards than Aldi but Aldi is my preferred shop for loads of things

Orangesandlemons77 · 10/03/2023 13:43

I need online delivery though sadly they don't deliver

Husband and I have a Waitrose card each. We've discovered alternating them is the way to go.

>Vouchers arrive for one card. We use only that card every shop. Use all the vouchers, but stick with the same card even once they've all been used up.

>Vouchers arrived for the other card. Presumably to entice us back! We stop using the first card and exclusively use this one instead.

>Vouchers arrive for the first card.

We tend to get £6 off a £30 shop style vouchers. Works out as a decent saving. We do regular top up shops at Waitrose, and can do bigger £30-£40 with planning. Eg not buy nappies in main shop, save for Waitrose.

Are these for the mywaitrose card or the john lewis card?

OP posts:
mummymummymummummum · 10/03/2023 14:26

@Orangesandlemons77 MyWaitrose. I do have a John Lewis one too, but haven't ever had anything Waitrose related through that.

Forgot to say on my previous post that there's usually an online voucher with the in store ones, but I've never tried it out!

BooseysMom · 30/03/2023 16:44

Well Waitrose have brought out the big guns!! The number of offers in store is unbelievable! Ok the vouchers have been reduced but look at the massive money saving offers they have now! I had Morissons and Tesco deliveries when i was ill and tbh there wasn't much in it price-wise compared to Waitrose and I was buying the same stuff I would usually buy.

Orangesandlemons77 · 30/03/2023 17:21

Yes noticed this today

Their wine is excellent, and the offers on it are great. Thats our main purchase there, though regrettably it is not insignificant.

I don’t see how people expect retailers to basically subsidise their shopping. Those days are gone….

Absolutely. Waitrose have always had premium prices but they are premium quality. They have their work cut out in order to maintain their reputation but they are excellent. For example, their fresh fish is very expensive but they have introduced a cheaper choice for salmon from the Feel Good Fish Company which is lovely.

Orangesandlemons77 · 30/03/2023 19:19

I have been ordering from them weekly for years and they are consistently reliable plus you get good substitutions- often the next size up!

When I had small DC they did this great thing where they load all your shopping for you and deliver it later, now I get the online delivery which is £3

Think we will get the meal deal curry for £11 for two mains and 2 sides for Saturday night

OP posts:
Roselilly36 · 30/03/2023 19:33

Not ordered from Waitrose for a while, not had voucher’s through the post for sometime, the my Waitrose vouchers haven’t enticed me to order tbh. I do like the Waitrose curry though by far the best offering from all the supermarkets.
