Hello, I have been waiting for a voucher for a food bank referral but there now aren’t any food banks open today near me! What do you do - it’s so amazing that there is a system in place to help but only if it’s a weekday. I’m not sure what to do / doesn’t anyone have any advice ? Thank you

People can ask whatever they want.

They can, but how is that helping the OP, demanding to know what she has accepted?

It can help others who live near to know if op still needs food, and can drive and give her some if they have the possibility to help in that way.

Just download the app AttaPoll - register (free) and then you can do surveys on your phone. It’s not very interesting but you can do it while watching TV or sitting in the car waiting for the kids or whatever.

you have to make £3 before you can transfer the money to PayPal. I would say I usually take a couple of days to make £5 because it is SO boring sometimes, then I cash out. Or I save up the money and send myself £15 or £18 or whatever at the weekend.

downsides are: can be EXTREMELY boring (it really is) and certainly less than minimum wage.
you can also be screened out for various reasons, especially if you put in inconsistent answers because you’re not concentrating and think you can put down any answer just to get through the survey fast.

upsides are: money for old rope. Can make £80ish a month with it and to me that’s 10 day food shop.
And you don’t have travel costs and warmer and less embarrassing than offering to take up next door’s leaves or iron their clothes for them.

truly better time spent than going on Mumsnet to have a bunch of people ask you disbelievingly about your energy bill in a COL crisis. Can be picking up a fiver’s worth of food for your five year old by lunchtime!

Fair enough, but some of the posts were not coming across like that to me.

Yes the whole thing made me feel rather uncomfortable- but anyways the olio app has come up trumps with a few bits as some suggested x

That's good

So you have some food for today and hopefully tomorrow

Are you and your partner both at work tomorrow ?

Can you ask for a pay advance
