Food bank

Hello, I have been waiting for a voucher for a food bank referral but there now aren’t any food banks open today near me! What do you do - it’s so amazing that there is a system in place to help but only if it’s a weekday. I’m not sure what to do / doesn’t anyone have any advice ? Thank you

I think its reasonable to ask (as it seems you are gathering private messages and people saying they would drive over to you) what you thought would happen today given you now say the food bank isnt open until Wednesday

How did you plan for your broccoli, potato, newly found potato and milk to last you 3 days?

Ok I thought you sort of gave the impression that you were going to be able to use the food bank tomorrow but just needed more food to get through today.

Now it seems you have a problem for 3 days, not just today.

Please do engage with your local foodbank or citizens advice when they are open and you are able. They'll be able to provide or refer you to other organisations for additional support, which will hopefully help you avoid finding yourself in your current situation again.

Do you have a Co-op nearby? Do you have a membership card which will give you £1 off a shop tomorrow, enough for a bag of pasta. You also still haven't answered the question about anything being in your fridge or cupboard.

Since when is it down to posters to be asking what has the OP accepted, or not? MNHQ have already posted on here. It is up to posters if they wish to go ahead after that warning, and offer whatever. It is rather concerning though that the OP is down to their last few food items. The school may have been able to help if they had been approached on Friday, seeing as the food voucher had not arrived. Hopefully going forward the OP will not run into a situation like this again.
