EPC cert done without permission - how to cancel???

There are some 'warmer homes' schemes about atm for those on benefits.
I am on benefits as a Carer for my disabled children. I'm also disabled.
My home is old, freezing, no insulation. I could really do with some help.

I had a company come round, said they could help, but then I couldn't get back through over Xmas time so I tried a 2nd Co. They also visited, wanted to see my benefits paperwork, asked me to sign on an iPad to check my benefits. So I did.
Now I know that sounds really stupid but they are the only Co in Scotland supported by the Scottish Govt so I thought it was ok & also they said I had a 10 day 'cooling off' on any offer they made me. I'd get a letter the next day & time to think. The next day I got an email asking for a contribution of £3k saying that must be paid before any formal survey could be done. So, no good to me.

Ironically I got call back from the 1st Co to say they could do work, no contrib needed but unfortunately they cant whilst a recent EPC is online. It turns out the Govt funded Co did a formal EPC whilst at my house & its available online now.
I definately wasnt informed of that (I had a friend here with me whole time)
Can I get it removed so I can continue with a different funding Co?

Is your comprehension so poor that you missed OP’s explanation for why she would want to? Because the first company won’t do the work if the (unauthorised) EPC that the second company did is there.

OP - have you actually tried to contact the second company and ask them to remove the EPC, on the basis that they had no authority to carry it out?

I will be writing to make formal complaint as they've not followed their own written procedure they left with me. I was also pressured to sign an iPad & the copies of this were not provided as promised. They have also made public info about my property without my permission & possibly devalued my house as I'm in Scotland & this would be included if I wanted to sell - (I don't at present but I'd have to pay for a new EPC before I did now)

I asked the other Co & they disagree about the EPC level (their survey was twice as long as Mr IPads. I think I can challenge the EPC if it is within 2 weeks.
I will be writing tomorrow.

There will be a name of the assessor on the EPC . Complain to the accreditation body who will be either Stroma or Elmhurst I imagine

@ArsonFire thank you.
I called them earlier - not remotely interested - & said the EPC not avail online.
Turns out its not on the main UK site but IS on the Scottish site (quelle surprise as I live in Scotland). Anyway, they told me to take it up with the Co that sent the surveyor round. I said I had but that I thought, as he was accredited by them, they would want to know too. They really didn't!

I have found the complaints process for the Scottish EPC system so emailed too.

I have no idea of the solution but that’s really crap - sorry that’s happened to you OP.
