When I had it during the "beast from the east", it was on my account before I even got home from staying with my parents (got snowed in there!)

I don't get it this time (yet) as each day has had literally one hour where the temp hits 1'c 🙄🥶

@BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter

From Gov.UK Website www.gov.uk/cold-weather-payment.

You’ll get a payment if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below over 7 consecutive days.

There's a Postcode checker within in the Gov.UK link so you can check out qualifying where you live.

In my area where daytime temps have risen above 0C several times during this current cold snap, the average has nevertheless been calculated as qualifying (because there are 16 hour nights of sub zero temps dragging the average temperature down to zero Celsius or below across 7th to 13th December)

Ah thank you - I'll keep my fingers crossed then!

had mine yesterday

NewBootsAndRanty · 15/12/2022 00:40

Same as @whatsthestory123 .

AlmostAJillSandwich · 15/12/2022 03:30

Just checked, my first went in some time yesterday, and the postcode checker is saying im due a second one too.

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 15/12/2022 16:30

Ah I think I've figured mine out - postcode covers a fairly variable area, so my especially low readings (on a hill surrounded by fields) don't match the "official" ones for the city centre 🙄

NewBootsAndRanty · 15/12/2022 16:42

Are you looking at coldweatherpayments.dwp.gov.uk/ @BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter ?

I'm in a city and the weather station they use for my postcode is pretty rural. Even central London's weather station is out at Heathrow.
