Mattress protectors?

I have the silent night one. Wasn't sure from the instructions.

If it's a mattress protector it goes on the mattress under the sheet.
Is there no instruction leaflet?

SheWoreYellow · 01/12/2022 15:10

You’d want it nearest you wouldn’t you? So on top.

SheWoreYellow · 01/12/2022 15:11

I mean put the electric blanket on top.

Unforgettablefire · 01/12/2022 15:11

Oooops sorry you got instructions 🙄

Ragruggers · 01/12/2022 15:12

The one that goes on top is called an overblanket. They are different should say on the package.I have an overblanket same make.Love it.

Surely that's an under blanket though?
Saying that I was looking at those and I'm sure they'd be good as the sheet as they're nice but what about the wires?
Try it out op see what's best for you.

SheWoreYellow · 01/12/2022 15:14

I thought the question was in relation to the mattress protector.

mondaytosunday · 01/12/2022 15:17

Mattress, mattress protector, heated under blanket (so it's supposed to go underneath you, not a throw style), fitted sheet, you, duvet. Ta dah!

Unforgettablefire · 01/12/2022 15:19

Yes isn't a mattress protector the one that goes under the sheet?
Maybe I've had mine in the wrong place all this time Blush

Yes a mattress protector goes under a sheet.

SheWoreYellow · 01/12/2022 15:23

For years and years there were things called electric blankets that we put on the mattress. I think that’s what the OP has, but there’s a chance she has one that goes over you I suppose.

tothelefttotheleft · 01/12/2022 15:26

I've can't have worded this well.

I didn't know if it should be -

mattress, mattress protector ,electric blanket and then sheet or

Mattress , electric blanket, mattress protector and then sheet?

OP posts:
SheWoreYellow · 01/12/2022 15:47

The first.

Cynderella · 01/12/2022 17:11

Yes, the first. Although we put the mattress protector over the blanket in the summer when it's not switched on.

Stressybetty · 01/12/2022 17:20

We have mattress, electric blanket, mattress protector, fitted sheet and can still feel plenty of warmth. No way I could sleep with electric blanket under the sheet as you can feel all the wires.

Stressybetty · 01/12/2022 17:22

we have this protector Silentnight Quilted King Size Mattress Protector – Premium Luxury Soft Cosy Mattress Cover Protector Pad with Extra Deep Fit Elasticated Straps – Hypoallergenic, Super Soft and Machine Washable - King amzn.eu/d/efC43Nx

hilariousnamehere · 01/12/2022 17:25

Mattress protector under electric blanket but under fitted sheet.

So mattress, protector, electric blanket, fitted sheet, duvet - and you'll be super cosy!

hilariousnamehere · 01/12/2022 17:25

Mattress protector under electric blanket but under fitted sheet.

Argh! Ignore my first sentence, I am an idiot and should get off the internet and go back to bed 😂

Izzabellasasperella · 01/12/2022 17:28

I have mine under a fairly thin mattress topper.
So electric blanket, mattress topper, sheet, duvet. Like other pp have said I can feel the wires if it's just under the sheet.

QuinkWashable · 01/12/2022 17:34

My bed is topper, protector, heated underblanket, sheet, fleecy blanket used as a second sheet (this is my top tip - it's very snuggly and lovely and washes/dries in a day), then quilt in a fleece cover. According to the thermometer the room drops to 14-15 overnight, but I wake up toasty and lightly sweaty! - and I only use the underblanket to warm it for 30 mins before I get in, it's not on all night.
