Asking on behalf of a friend. Her monthly Direct Debit is £60.00. Most utility companies are splitting the government help of £400 over the Winter months, so £66.00 per month.
They took her £60 direct debit, but then refunded it a week later. It is showing as being paid on the last bill, but no mention of the £66 Government help ie the extra £6.00. Will they just keep refunding the Direct Debit until the £400 is ‘used up’? She has emailed the question, but got no answer and can’t get through by phone.
