Hi, like most (maybe?) I’ve not put the heating on yet and I’m trying to make my small income go as far as it can. My income has already now dropped lower than my outgoings.
I’ve noticed where my boiler flue goes into my loft, there’s a huge gap around it (presumably from where the old one was bigger). It’s been there probably 10 years..
Anyway, does anyone have any ideas how I can block up this hole without it being a fire risk please? There’s about a 6-8 inch gap around it in a circle.

Not exactly cheap, but have a look at superwool fibre blanket. It's a ceramic refactory product used in kilns (for use up to 1260°C). Comes in different thicknesses. Other fibre blankets are available, but this one is bio-soluble - still best to use gloves, mask, eye protection when installing/ stuffing it in though. You can cut it with strong scissors or a craft knife.

If it is part of the wall/ceiling. Expanding foam, and then cut it flush and the use filler to smooth over and then paint over it once dry xx
