UC help

Hi, I was a single parent, due my UC claim in 4 days. My partner is moving in today and wanting to do everything right, have started the joint claim process. Now I'm panicking I will not receive my payment in a few days as the statement for it has disappeared. Anyone had similar experience?

Given it's a five week wait saying it's paid in arrears how could they justify not paying it?

You should still get it as you were entitled to it during the assessment period. It is a pain in the arse though that all of your previous statements disappear. I wish they warned you of that! If you call them they should be able to send you copies of your statements 'for your records' if you need them. Make a point of how annoying it is though. I did was in exactly the same situation last year and they said they'd pass on my comments to their development team or whatever as they could see how annoying it is. If enough people do that it might prompt them to change the system

If your statement has already been generated then the payment will be paid. You need to then report a change that he has moved in and your next statement will be a couples one but your assessment period should stay the same with the same dates.

Ok great that's reassuring. I'll report back if they don't!
