Second job...

I work as a nurse and am considering getting a second job in Waitrose to meet ends meet.
I don't really want to do agency nursing (it's a bloody hard slog and I do enough at work!) whereas a supermarket is sort of low stress.
What do you all think? I was hoping to get a position that I could work round my current job. I have two small children, DH and need to keep the wolf from the door.

From the experience of people I know, as a casual you will not get to chose shifts or set days, until you have been there for some time. And with the Christmas season approaching, you will be expected to work extra days.
