I saw this on the Lemon Fools "living below your means" board. Thought I'd re-post here as it might be of interest to someone: www.lemonfool.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=36028

Don't think you have to register to view, but I've also done a screen-shot.

Summary - someone's wife works from home in a cold room. He got her a heated car seat cover
www.argos.co.uk/product/7065567
with adaptor so it can be plugged in
www.halfords.com/camping/coolboxes/halfords-coolbox-mains-to-12v-accessory-adaptor-290806.html

Apparently it's very warm and costs about 1p for 4 hours to run.

I have one in my car it’s fantastic - it plugs in the ‘cigar’ lighter socket so I assume you’d have to change the plug for mains at home (it’s back in it’s packaging for summer in the boot but needs getting out again soon)
my next car Is definitely having heated seats though
I got an RAC one at B and M Home-store sure it was about £16 but they definitely work well 🔥

Okay sorry didn’t see the adaptor set, brilliant idea, you really don’t need them on full time either once they have warmed up. Toasty, I like it warms my back up it’s very soothing

I have one of these in my car too as I suffer from the cold but don't like the dry heat the car heater sends out.
I also have an expensive heated blanket indoors £60.
I have recently bought a £20 bed single electric blanket for my side of the double bed. What I'm wondering is if this is a cheaper alternative to have on the couch instead of someone buying a £60 heated blanket?
