Estimated annual bill

A friend has asked me for advice. A letter from British gas says that it is estimated she will pay £1243 for gas and £839 for electricity (based on the fact she paid £914 for gas and £721 for electric in the past). This is before the £400 is taken off. Am I right in thinking there is not much difference between what she was paying and what she will pay now? I don't want to tell her the wrong thing.

Why is it up to you to tell her the wrong thing?

A more accurate prediction is to find her latest annual roundup, it should say how much electric (day & night) and gas, in kWh.

Then it's just small maths of multiplying her kWh by new prices released by her supplier, add on the daily standing charges. Then you get a good guess of what this year's bill will be. Divide by 12, monthly DD amount.

The £400 help will be deducted £66 per month from October - March.
