I'm due to pick up my first bag tonight, if you've had one what did you get? How did you find the food? Would you get one again?

I had one from Costa after the last thread about it. Mine was all cake. Where are you getting it from? Every shop sells different stuff though so its a bit like asking length/string. 😁

Didn't know they all do different, a Costa one sounds amazing will look out for that one!!!
I'm getting it from Morrisons. Is it kinda like a lucky dip bag then?

I've had mixed experiences.

One place was really good to begin with, but as they got more popular the amount of food you got decreased (presumably so that they could sell more bags). This was a cake business, so they were items that failed quality control rather than going out of date.

Another cancelled the order as I walked into the shop, which was annoying as I'd made a special trip. I understand that they didn't have enough to fulfil it, but it would have been nice for them to have realised half an hour earlier.

Other than that generally good. Is best when you get things that you can freeze (eg bread) as that makes it last longer.

It's ok but it's not saving money from costa etc because it's cheaper to buy food at the supermarket. Will be interested in what Morrisons has!

NerrSnerr · 12/09/2022 19:19

We use it all the time and it definitely saves us money, mainly because my husband and I are not fussy with what we eat. We tend to get bags 4-5 times a week. Todays had a cheese and onion sandwich, carrot sticks and hummus (my lunch for work tomorrow), a trifle (children are now trying trifle for the first time), some ham (my husband will use in a sandwich tomorrow, and some single cream (I need to find something to make with this and probably freeze).

We get meat probably every other bag (usually chicken or mince) and random vegetable most times which we will eat (or freeze for when I make a vegetable curry).

NerrSnerr · 12/09/2022 19:21

I forgot to say, the bags I were describing above are from the co-op.

If i'm in the city centre at teatime I may get a costa/ Greggs/ Starbucks one and usually get a mixture of sandwiches and cakes.

Our local Morrisons isn't good- I went once and the staff were rude and the bag was rubbish (full of very wilted salad).

LynneBenfield · 12/09/2022 19:25

Our local offerings are useless. Pretty much just overpriced roast vegetable leftovers from the local carvery place. Good for reducing food waste but they aren’t saving anyone money.

My CoOp TGTG bag from Friday.

I get them all the time!

If you have a Waitrose or M&S petrol or service stations near you, Sunday nights are the best ones by far!

I freeze most of it and it's not often I get a poor bag tbh

HebeSunshine · 12/09/2022 19:37

We had one from Greggs and it was rubbish. A bake thing (unknown filling), a ham/cheese baguette, a shrivelled up pain au choc and 2 cookies. Ok it was only £2.59 but I wouldn't have spent that buying that stuff so a waste really.

MarieJ1987 · 12/09/2022 19:37

Not a bad bag, not sure all the donuts will get eaten but I'll take them to work.

I usually get half of what's in those photos. The local co-op is good but someone must set a timer as they go within seconds every day! The Morrisons one I got was rubbish....carrots, potatoes, squashed loaf of bread. Costa was okay but mainly cakes and one sandwich. I don't really bother looking anymore as the quality and quantity is just too patchy.
