Understanding energy usage in manual! Help!

Please be kind, first post may seem like an obvious question! I’ve started checking energy usage for appliances we own but I’m struggling to understand if the kWH is total usage or if it is definitely per hour and I then have to calculate the exact amount.

I assumed it would be per hour but our eco cycle for the dishwasher wouldn’t be much less!

Check labels etc for the power of the item. For example, my Dyson Airwrap is a 1300W device (which IS NOT what I expected!). I use it to dry my hair for about 6mins a day (so 0.1 of an hour).

For me on my current rate, that's 4p per day or £13.49 per year to run.

I use this calculator to work it out:

In manuals, it's usually for the complete cycle.
