Stressing out

ok so my fixed tariff ended in June of this year with British Gas so I went on a fixed term till 2023

I have meters outside one for gas and one for electric. (the old style) I’ve just submitted the readings but they seem low. I live in a refurbished 3 bed. I’m stressing that could it be possible that both meters could be broken? My shower is electric and oven electric. I haven’t been consciously trying to reduce my usage. The kids have electronics and I have a laptop but we tend to use a lamp in rooms instead of big lights.

could it be because I am on a fixed tariff where the people who are receiving horrendous bills at this point are on variable?

I pay £100a month direct debit for both gas and electric

im not the most intelligent so any advice would be appreciated

Your gas and electric usage will be a lot lower this time of year. Our lowest months are always June and July, and August is slightly higher. You're probably not using central heating, water won't cost so much to heat, you've got lighting on less, probably using oven less for meals. If you've got a hairdryer or tumble dryer, you're less likely to use them this time of year as well.

What makes the readings seem low? Were the previous readings estimates?
