Remortgage

I want to remortgage to refurb my home - it’s worth £350k and my mortgage is £150k.

I want to do the house up and add another bedroom (loft conversion).

My question is what’s the max you think a bank would borrow? Ie £150k plus another £100k (btw I have good credit and I earn £71k )

It will depend on your other financial commitments and your age.

Have you tried the mortgage calculator on one of the banks? They all have them. They look at your age, number of dependants, debt and equity and also your earnings. You have a good amount of equity and a nice wage so I reckon you will get what you need. Look on the Halifax under mortgage tools

I am re-mortgaging due to a divorce. I did everything via a financial advisor. It is so worth it if you can find a good one. Doing it yourself is a mine field x
