Apparently I’m in arrears

Hello, I was hoping for a bit of advice. I have just checked my (awful) credit score and it says I have a account in arrears. But I haven’t missed any payments, I pay off extra each month. Any ideas what this could be?

They should give you a breakdown of each product. Check them individually.

You should be able to see what account is in arrears on your report. Impossible for anyone who doesn’t have access to your credit report to say what it might be.

You should be able to see on there. I was shocked when I couldn't get credit and found a false 6 years long non payment on there. I got it removed but its well worth checking if its actually real

I swear I clicked on every button on the bloody website and it wouldn’t tell me anything. Thanks for the reply, I will have another go

What site are you using to check it?

Hope this is ok to post, I knew I had a default from many years ago. I was waiting for the 6 (or however many years it takes) years to go buy. I did not have or pay this phone contract in 2017 though. Sorry this is confusing to me. As far as I was aware everything was settled.

The problem is, I don’t have my old phone number, god knows what email address it was registered to. I know I phoned them and paid many years ago, but that doesn’t count for anything really :(

Can you still give them a ring and explain your situation?

They should be able to locate an account with your personal info e.g. name date of birth, address.

If you think you have paid and the default is in error after speaking to them, ask if they can amend your credit file.
If they won't you can always complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service - however that process can take months.

Thank you for the replies, I have hopefully nearly sorted it. Vodafone managed to transfer me to DPD at one point. I can only laugh at this point!

If you Google Vodafone payment default it’s really common and really buggers up people credit ratings, it’s something to do with final bills.
