Oh alfie that sounds bloody awful. I think for sure there are people jumping on the trans bandwagon and using it as a means to bully others. And i know damn well I'm not homophobic. He/ they just sounds like a toxic person all round.

Unescorted · 13/03/2022 10:21

Well the bingo card is looking like I have no idea who time is..... because most of my possibles have posted, unless it is a long time person ago. I am rubbish at this.....

Busy morning. Study. Washing. Done mash and filling (apart from the beef) for leftover cottage pie for Tuesday and made a metric tonne of cauli cheese for tonight's roast, the freezer and to gift Hmm. Need to study more. Walk the dog and the remember what the hell I need to pack in order to go to the office and, more importantly, where the hell it is. Still need to make yorkie batter and do something about ds's minging sports kits before pe tomorrow. Washing is out on the line. I'm doing crap at name changer bingo too

Taytocrisps · 13/03/2022 10:57

I've caught up on the last few pages.

Wolf how are you feeling today?

north sounds like you had a really nice time visiting family last weekend. Congrats. to your DS on getting his placement. Never be afraid of sharing when you have good news. This is a lovely, supportive group - we offer a helping hand when others are going through a tough time and we take joy in our (and by extension, our families) successes and achievements - big and small. I don't understand the mentality of people who rush to attack others and cut them down to size. It's a really mean thing to do and I'd rather not associate with people like that - in real life or on social media.

Adora lovely to see you. Sounds like you had a nice visit with your stepson and his family last weekend.

Born I'm sorry to hear your DS is so unhappy in his current job Sad. If he could find something else, it would really help.

Mrs I was also sorry to read that your two DDs experienced bullying to such an extent that they left their chosen careers. What a waste - all that time spent studying and training. Not to mention the loss to the teaching and midwifery professions. But of course, their happiness and peace of mind is the most important thing. No point in them persisting if it would impact their physical and/or mental health.

Unescorted what a sad day - your Dad's funeral. How are you feeling now? Still a bit fragile I'd imagine. Fair play to you for unearthing your bike - the image of you cycling your bike home with a basket full of baguettes groceries put a smile on my face.

Gen sorry to hear you've also been a victim of workplace bullying.

em sounds like the kitchen is progressing at a rapid pace. When will you get to move back in. The IBS flare up sounded nasty. Glad you're over the worst of it.

Time I've no idea who you are (any chance of a PM?) so your subterfuge has worked.

Alfie has DD gone back to her Ex? I'm not sure if she's moved back in with him or if she just posted on his FB page. At any rate, sounds like she still has some level of involvement with him and hasn't cut him out of her life completely. I'm so sorry. We want the very best for our children and he is so far removed from that - he's right at the other end of the scale.

Happier I love the cases - so colorful. I adore bright colours. Are you off somewhere nice? Sounds like a fab. night with your friends.

I think I mentioned already that our government announced a payment of €100 to each household for help with the soaring costs of energy. They've now increased it to €200 and it will apply from April. They're applying it as a credit on our electricity accounts - I guess that's to ensure that it's used directly on electricity costs and not on other things like alcohol or whatever. I pay my bill by direct debit so I'm not sure how that will work - will my direct debit be lower in April? I must look into it.

I love line dried clothes but I mainly hang them out from April - September. Between October and March it's just not warm enough ime. I don't have a drier. In the winter months I hang them on clothes airers inside and the heating dries them quite quickly. There are only two of us, so we don't have the same volume of laundry as a family of six would.

I have started following Yotam Ottolenghi test kitchen on You Tube - they had a lovely looking curried roast cauliflower cheese in a filo pastry case the other day. Less complicated than in sounds.

DH is picking up DD - he has just rung to say that he has gone past a petrol station selling diesel for £1.94 per litre. It was a normal one not a out in the sticks / motor way services one that can charge what it likes because of a lack of competition one. Shock

Mrsmadevans · 13/03/2022 12:31

Unescorted we have just filled up Bobbos car, it cost £99 and he already had two bars so a quarter of a tank full, he was charged 1.67 per litre . It is one of those garages that is has no competition but it is owned by Morrisons so I think that's made all the difference

Mrsmadevans · 13/03/2022 12:31

That was diesel btw

Mrsmadevans · 13/03/2022 12:35

Tayto AHH thank you so much, l agree, what a waste, although they can use the degree to tick the boxes for job application. So there is that at least . They are so much happier now but it's rife and needs stamping down on 😔

Timetoswitch · 13/03/2022 14:35

DH was going to fill up with petrol, before price goes up again. He gave up as the queue was too long!

Lovemaltesers · 13/03/2022 15:41

Feeling a bit guilty here, and worried I’m going to be rubbish at lying. I called in sick last week, so I could go on an all-paid for spa day with an old friend. It was the only day we could go and we had an amazing time . Now I have to face my boss tomorrow, and pretend how ill I was Blush

First time ever I have done this. Didn’t cost me a penny as my mate’s other friend cancelled so was frugal.

ememem84 · 13/03/2022 17:27

Usually the chat goes like “nice to see you back. Feeling better?” “Yes thanks” and that’s the end of it.

If they probe further could you just say mental health day. Because in my mind self care (like a spa and a catch up with a friend) is health care.

ememem84 · 13/03/2022 17:33

We’ve been to our house today and decluttered some
Of the stuff we’re keeping (or not)

Filled the bath with things for the charity shop and I’ll take them next Saturday.

Have also done laundry. A lot of laundry today.

If anyone wants a tasty yum dinner go to Waitrose and buy itzu gyozas and bao. Can all be microwaved from frozen. Abs are so yum.

We had Korean beef gyoza and pineapple fried rice for lunch. With lettuce and cucumber sesame salad.

Unescorted · 13/03/2022 17:44

Hahahaha! love .... my Dbro did that. He went on a week's ski trip. All would have been fine except the weather was too so he came back with a ski tan. Apparently he was ""so poorly that he fell asleep on a tanning bed while trying to top up his vitamin D" ..... I am not sure he was successful in his lies.

I hope you enjoyed your spa day in any case. Let us know how you got on with your Oscar winning acting.

Can I have the "Oh fuck is that the time, what can be rustled up from the cupboard because the supermarket is now shut and we can't have the roast dinner that was planned because dh arranged to meet friends in the pub at 7:30 tonight & forgot to tell me" award? From a standing start at 5:15 I have made a tomato and lentil soup and a damper bread with fennel & cracked pepper.

Sorry missed you there time .... you have been in my thoughts all day - not in a sentimental way, more a what word will I used to start tomorrow's wordle with way. I am going with an old poster. One of our long lost friends... Lonely or Sea possibly.

Wolfcub · 13/03/2022 18:11

Unescorted, funnily enough I have that recipe screenshotted and filed Grin excellent going on the soup and damper. My roast dinner is going in the oven now
Tayto feeling a bit better thank you, shame we couldn't be at Twickers together to watch the rugby it was a hell of a match
Love as long as there are no photos on social media and no one you knew saw you you'll be fine. Keep the story very simple.
Em agree re itzu gyoza and bao except for the turkey and cranberry ones which I had last night (mistaken ocado delivery) which are a complete travesty.

ememem84 · 13/03/2022 18:14

Good lord No. turkey is the devils food.

I’m trying not to lose the Will to live right now. Dc eating dinner. They have been toilet 6 times. Abs are each whispering to themselves. Taking ages.

Unescorted · 13/03/2022 18:18

I did not know they can be microwaved. I have made all sorts of excuses not to buy them so we don't have to faff with the steamers

OP posts:
Wolfcub · 13/03/2022 18:32

You can also pan cook the gyoza Unescorted

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/03/2022 18:38

Definitely go mental health day love. If the conversation doesn’t go as em said, which most do

ememem84 · 13/03/2022 18:54

Yes! They can be microwaved. Or pan fried (which makes them crisp). I tend to microwave them then pan them in chilli oil. Adds spice. Yum.

Startagaintoday · 13/03/2022 19:38

The name change isn't me. Sing?

ememem84 · 13/03/2022 19:46

I thought sing. Or humbug.

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/03/2022 19:51

I made the depression cake that’s on tic tok and thought it was going to be disgusting. It’s quite nice

Alfiemoon1 · 13/03/2022 20:28

Evening all hope you are all well I was thinking humbug. Nsd
Managed to do a big in the garden but it was breezy. Then got soaked walking ddog
Watching crufts now

Taytocrisps · 13/03/2022 21:22

We called to my brother's house earlier and met their new dog (springer spaniel). Totally gorgeous but a livewire. She's teething so she was chewing on a couple of dog toys.

When we got home, we watched 'The Goonies'. What a great movie. Sunday nights are so much better when you don't have work in the morning.
