Just bought this for £15.40 from Amazon warehouse for my Nephews boyfriend for his birthday in November . I have had excellent success in getting things from Amazon Warehouse , best was a Gtech hoover for £77 , nothing wrong with it at all just the box retaped . PaulSmith Extreme aftershave was only £11.85 nothing wrong with it at all just stuck a warehouse sticker on it , saved me £4 for Dh birthday Smile

Cool
£50 petrol, £31 milbury hill outdoor shop, £10 ds, £12 kfc

Lovely afternoon meeting a friend. Worth the drive

ememem84 · 25/02/2022 07:54

Morning all. Busy week here. Tagged dsis in to deal with parents this week - teacher and it’s half term so….tag you’re it!

This week I’ve spent £84 on Pilates classes for the next 6 weeks
Probably £7 on lunch/snacks
£60 osteopath
Had my tattoo (the cat one) touched up finally
£17 garden centre on gift bags bath bombs and car air freshener.

Appraisal with the boss yesterday. Feedback from colleagues was awesome. I told him I wanted a promotion. No messing about. Just told him what I wanted. We talked about ds starting school and how I’m going to manage it. No idea yet.

Boss said he felt funny discussing my family life in conjunction with career. But it is necessary. Because unless I find the balance it doesn’t work.
He’s suggested I take a tax course to further my knowledge. Annoyingly there is one available in July. But it comes with a 5 hour exam. Yikes.

I said after appraisal and once I’d found tax course I’d think about applying for it but only after promotions were announced. So essentially I’ll do it. But only if I get promoted first. Promotions announced in less than a month. So plenty of time.

ememem84 · 25/02/2022 07:55

In house news. Builders took front off house. To put window in. Floors in living room and kitchen are not the same level - we never noticed it!!

Tiles arrive on Monday.

No invoice yet from builder. Have asked him if it’s being sent. He said we’d receive on a Tuesday and I don’t want to be late for payment.

Wolfcub · 25/02/2022 08:36

Having a semi spendy holiday, lots of free things done and plenty meals eaten in the holiday let but not entirely without spending (cough beer cough). Not sure what we are going to do yet today will let ds arise from his pit and then decide

Also spent the day with a friend yesterday, glad she made the trip Wink

Kitchen design has come in. Needs some tweaking, that's next weeks job.

Em glad the works are going well and well done on asking for the promotion. Shy bairns get nowt.

Sorry about the job Love, sounds like it wasn't quite right for you but always hard to get a knock back and feedback.

I'm liking the sound of walking on air North, sounds like something I could do with my knee and hip are definitely feeling the holiday walking

Unescorted I'm interested to hear what the next baking project will be.

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/02/2022 14:37

Tip run done, log store down bar one post where the bolts are seized, green house gone bar rusty base that I’m hoping the rag bone man will take next week

Knackered

ememem84 · 25/02/2022 15:05

Zoo with the kids today. £11 snacks and £28 treats in the shop. Iguana stuffy toy and tortoise stuffy toy. Kids didn’t need them but they were so so good for me. So decided to treat them.

Saw the chameleon today and a crazy snake.

CurlsandCurves · 25/02/2022 20:46

@ememem84 interesting what you say about your boss not being used to talking about work and family life balance. Very telling that he’s not used to it. Very much a male dominated profession I’m guessing.

Busy week here workwise. Which means no time for spending, yay! Pay day on Monday so I’ve transferred almost what I’ve got left to my savings. So close to my emergency fund goal.

Absolutely shattered so it’s Gogglebox and goodnight from me!

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2022 07:18

I hope the family balance chat was led by you em and it’s naughty (well discriminating) of employers to make this an issue as I’m sure you know
That said it is an important consideration

£88 sainsburys yesterday. Quick dash to top up in aldi and farm foods today.
Yes i know that’s backwards but a C&C made my life easier and the other 2 are not urgent

ememem84 · 26/02/2022 08:28

It was and wasn’t. The boss said how it was awkward and he knew that it could potentially be discriminatory. But that said it is important to talk about. Especially as we are a small business and me changing hours will have an affect. If I was in dhs work of 600 people it wouldn’t have such an effect. But in a business of 20. A (potential) manager working part time might have an effect.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2022 10:07

That’s fair enough then em

marthasmum · 26/02/2022 13:09

Congratulations on the good feedback em.
New boiler is in but has randomly turned itself on and off a few times - using the fancy Google gadget I insisted we buy Confused
I think it's sorted now 🤞🏻
Email from bulb, our fuel has gone up £2000 a year so will potentially be just over £400 per month. Really hoping that will be less with the new boiler.
I was feeling really grumpy last night but am trying to get perspective watching the news.
We've had a difficult week with DS1 too so I'm a bit fed up generally.

Mrsmadevans · 26/02/2022 14:19

Martha lt's a shock how much the energy bills have gone up l know lovely , hope all settled now with your Ds1 Flowers glad your boiler is sorted Smile
Em it's good to talk things over, hopefully it will be sorted satisfactorily for you Smile
Life quick dash to Farmfoods for me too today they do these delicious chocolate biscuits for 50p a box which we can only get from there honestly delicious! Also Carte d'or vanilla ice cream for 99p bought a couple for the freezer spent 15 in Farmfoods .

Waves to everyone Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/02/2022 15:29

floatinginmyhomie · 27/02/2022 16:40

Hi sorry I dropped off again we were really busy during the storms. We had to moor away from our usual spot as we were worried the trees might fall thankfully we were all safe. My sisters and cousins came to visit for the day this week for half term, 4 teen/tween girls it was a nightmare😂. My anxiety has sky rocketed at the minute but the spring like weather has made me feel a bit better.
mrs the geese at mumbobs sounds beautiful I love being so close to wildlife😍 sorry you didn’t have electric in the storm, it does sound cosy though. Lovely that you were able to sit outside!
Well done on the job alfie!🎉
em sorry to hear about your mum and dad I hope they feel better soon💐 the pics from the zoo are brilliant
gen I hope everything works out for you❤️
martha glad your boilers sorted now😊
curls I completely get you with not feeling yourself. I’m not sure if it’s hormonal for me but some days I just wake up feeling so out of sorts. Glad you’re feeling better!❤️
love I’m sorry about the job but as you say it didn’t seem like the best fit for you. Well done on going to the interview though!🥰
Enjoy your holiday wolf it sounds lovely!
DH has taken DD to the park and I’m catching up on the apprentice with DS. I might have a nap before they get back. NSD.

Wolfcub · 27/02/2022 17:20

I'm wondering if it might be time for our top savings tips again? I've just redone the budget to account for a rise in energy direct debit (I've only put it up by half of what they want for now I've still not had a bill since we were move to bgas) and petrol. My savings will take a massive hit which is worrying especially as I'm planning the big kitchen spend which will empty my savings accounts.

Going to have to really be more conscious of spends

Mrsmadevans · 27/02/2022 17:34

Floating l can believe it was really scary for you, bless you , thank God you are safe, it was ok without the electric tbh , just missed the internet as you do lol Smile
Wolf it's really getting hard for a lot of us, budgeting is on the cards for me big time Hmm
