I'm keen to explore this as a way to earn extra income but not entirely sure what it is/ involves.
Please could someone explain
Is it worth it?
If it is, where do I start please?
Many thanks Smile

Don’t. Don’t do any betting as a way to earn extra income. You should only ever bet money you’d be happy to lose and approach it as a fun activity.
You aren’t going to make money off betting unless you’re the betting shop!

That’s not how it works at all.

OP - check out the free stuff at teamprofit. There’s not much value in it these days but you might be lucky enough to make a few hundred.

I used to clear £2k/month but the bookies caught on and these days I’m lucky if I make £50.

Do you know what matched betting actually is?

Ask yourself why bookmakers are happy for people to do this!
Because it’s drawing people in to betting!

I did it and made a few hundred. But it got harder and more time consuming to do so I gave up. Look at Team Profit and Emma something or other. There’s another fb group that’s helpful too.

Bookmakers are not happy for people to do this. When they realise they usually put a stop to it immediately.

OP I second the recommendatiom for Team Profit to start.

I started in April 2017. Over the near 5 years since I made over £10000. As long as you follow the instructions/rules then you'll be fine. What I will say is compared to when I first started there doesn't seem to be the same offers from bookies now. It has pretty much run its course for me. a couple of bookies will give me an offer so I might make £30 a month but I don't rely on it as an income now.

TiddleTaddleTat · 08/01/2022 09:11

Did it for a bit, I’ve probably earned about £800 over two periods in the last few years. If you don’t mind creating loads of email accounts and registering with lots of betting companies, watching loads of videos etc it’s fairly straightforward.
However there IS a risk of being drawn into gambling, if you have a tendency to enjoy that, I would avoid.
Matched betting itself is pretty much risk free (aside from human error in terms of following instructions).

I started, made a few quid, but I got stressed about whether I was making a mistake each time, and didn't have time to concentrate on it properly.

Basically, you make a bet on both possible outcomes, one of your bets will always come through and the other won't. By using free bets that bookies offer to draw people in for one of your bets each time, you make money.

You really need to follow Team Profit (or another one I don't remember) to get it right. Unless you are a really experienced and knowledgeable gambler.

Also I discussed with DH before I started. We agreed I have the least addictive personality of anyone we've ever known.

Thanks so much - as you can see I really didn't have a clue what it involved! Thank you for enlightening me
