Hi

I pay 33 a month for water in the Northeast. Is this around average? Would I be cheaper with a water meter? Thanks

North west
We moved from a house without a meter to a house with a meter. It was a shock.
We pay £43 per month & we are only a family of 3!

Maybe not then Shock we're a family of 4

There is no way that anyone can tell you the answer to that but luckily if you change to meter and it ends up being more expensive there's a grace period to change back.

You are now going to get lots of posts of random numbers that other people pay, ignore them all as they have no bearing on your specific usage.

I'm guessing you're with Northumbrian Water @ChristmasComing123? They have a calculator on their site that can tell you if it's cheaper to be on a meter.

I was told if you have more people than bedrooms it'll be cheaper to be on a meter.

calculator here

I wouldn't have said that's a bad amount for water for that amount of people

My parents' water bill tripled when they installed a meter. They changed back. They are retired, wash up by hand, use the washing machine every 3 days and shower once a day for 5 mins each.
Their water company tried really hard to prevent them switching back, including not booking an uninstaller 3 times, but they stood firm and are glad they did.
