Universal credit overpayment

I received a payment from universal credit in January of £700 but that was there mistake because they didn't get my wages right from employer they said I didn't get anything when I got my full wage and then said I was entitled to it so closed account. I have had no letters about overpayment or message on journal. I phoned universal credit and they said they can't see how I owe a overpayment. I still have money in my bank I kept it by. Would I have received a letter by now?

Many thanks
