Overpaying on Mortgage

We have a repayment mortgage
Started overpaying a hundred pound here and there... my question is do we save more on interest if we overpay monthly or is it irrelevant so I can save up and pay off 1k at a time.... (in same year) accumulated interest - all new to this. TIA

You need to check your mortgage documents. According to ours interest is calculated daily so would be better to pay as and when rather than save it up.

Thank you! Just checked over pay as we go would save us more...

Just check with your provider too - if you increase your direct debit, it's treated differently to a standing order. Can't remember how exactly, it was a bit complicated, but I wish I'd known.

You’ll probably be better paying it in straight away as interest is usually calculated daily. I overpaid mine like this and have been mortgage free for 3 years now.
