Ccj help

Hi!
After a little help. Made some financial mistakes in my previous break up and early single mum days which left me with 3 ccjs. All amounting to 2k in total and all over 3 years old and satisfied.

I'm ashamed of it, but I really wasn't in the right place and buried my head in the sand and can't be undone as they were put on the file
For 6 years. They will be 6 years old by March 2023.

Since then I work on my score and credit re building cards and make sure all is paid on time.

I have also sent off notice of correction on my files to explain the reason it happened and how circumstances have changed significantly since then.

We would like to get a joint mortgage around 2023 onwards when we have the full deposit together but my question is will the ccjs just fall off 6 years after? Iv heard that it does or even people can get ccj mortgages anyway. Does anyone have any experience?

Tia xx

Yes after 6 years they should just disappear from your credit record.

Thankyou for your reply. Iv heard this but heard other stories where people say they don't drop off and got me panicking. All being well if I keep saving doing what I'm doing to pay on time and keep utilisation low we should be on track. X

You can always do a regular credit check on yourself to make sure they've gone. That would give you plenty of time to sort things out if they didn't drop off your report.

I've never heard of them not being removed after 6 years though. Some people do get a bit confused about CCJs and credit reports and think that the CCJ disappears if they pay in full, but like yours, they stay there but get marked as satisfied.

Yes they do drop off. Exactly 6 years after they are registered.

don’t ask me how I know

Has anyone had ccjs drop off and know how long it took their credit to re build after? I make sure everything is satisfied and on time any small amount of credit I can get to show responsibility I pay off and keep utilisation low. Xx

I think once they are off your credit rating will start to build straight away. It seems as if you know how to build it up. You seem to be doing everything right Smile

They do drop off. But you can always go to a mortgage adviser and explain. They may be able to get you a mortgage with them on.
