northender · 01/03/2021 08:52

unescorted everything re new jobs/roles is more difficult when wfh too, but agree re first 3 months being the worst time.
em enjoy your run later
Great news on the school place life
Day off today so out for a walk with dh later. Exercise class first. Will be nice weather once mist clears.

ememem84 · 01/03/2021 09:05

busy morning so far.

early breakfast with ds which was nice. then 've done a load of laundry (or the machine was set on an timer so it finished at 7). out on the line by 730, another load in. dishwasher emptied. bins emptied. quick tidy up.

SnugglySnerd · 01/03/2021 11:57

Happy St David's day!

ememem84 · 01/03/2021 13:16

Went for a walk. So nice to be outside. Now sitting out in the garden with a cuppa.

Plants are doing so well. 😀

£16 amazon on two acrylic drawer inserts - i already have these for my make up drawer but bought some for dresser drawers downstairs and a metal command hook for wardrobe door so i can hang my next days outfit up.

Unescorted · 01/03/2021 16:17

Thanks guys - today was better. I knew what I was doing and got it done. Phew.

em hope you had a good run. Can I just say if a lemon was outside here at the moment it would grow legs and leave.

Life great news re the school place. The first is the worst because siblings generally follow. Ds has got his 6th form place on the back of DD being a swot.

Happy Daffodil day Mrs and Fear

AmberItsACertainty · 01/03/2021 17:23

Happy St David's day 🌷

Em possibly 😂. It's true I don't feel I make a very good human anyway. The pandemic has finished me off, I'm definitely in survival mode at the moment. My census letter came today. Perhaps when I'm asked if I'm male or female I'll self identify as a cat 😺 🐈 🐾. Catface is a beauty, by the way.

Unescorted I hope you settle into the new role soon.

Life that's good news about the school place.

NSD today. I'm having a lazy day reading.

ememem84 · 01/03/2021 18:21

amber 😂 catface says thanks. She knows she’s a beaut...! 😂😂

Sounds like you had a lovely day. Just reading sounds like bliss.

I made “kfc” for dinner. Southern fried chicken strips guacamole salad onion rings chips and cheeeeeeeeese. And Mayo. Yum.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/03/2021 18:30

Cat face is so expressive in her looks. So far for that frightened little kitten.
D's is not pleased about school but we are

ememem84 · 01/03/2021 18:43

Yep absolutely. She’s loved with us for 4 and half years now. And has grown so much (in size as well as bravery and confidence).

One of these pictures is day one. The other is a fairly recent one which cracks me up. I managed to capture her mid sneeze.

She certainly doesn't look like the half feral cat that hid under everything.

The house next door is up for sale and there was an old dear viewing it today. I am not sure I am what she had in mind for a neighbour - I have never seen someone leave a house viewing so quickly. Admittedly I was muttering quite loudly under my breath about the Baltic wind as I went out to fetch the washing in. Swearing may have been involved.

ememem84 · 01/03/2021 18:46

For those of you who don’t know - catface was pretty much feral when we got her. She was born in a house to a breeding queen and her and the rest of her litter were unceremoniously dumped in a park when they were probably around 5m old. She was found with her brothers and sister. And litter of kittens (3 had died. And three were alive but died later). All cats have been rehomed. Two to my riding instructor. One lives in the stables and the other I never see because he’s a hunter.

Catface was the smallest in the litter but is huge. For a female cat. She’s around 7kg. And has little stumpy legs.

Gensola · 01/03/2021 19:15

Love those pics em and the story.
We got our cat from a woman who had 25 or more cats and kittens of all ages and she’s been told to get rid of them. The house was crazy with cats everywhere and poo and food everywhere. Her husband chain smoked on the sofa (there were three ashtrays heaped with cigs all around him when we went) so my kitten’s fur was all matted and stank of smoke. He had to have antibiotics as well as his usual kitten jabs as he was poorly but is now a massive and confident boy who rules the roost here!

ememem84 · 01/03/2021 19:22

I love a cat. And a happy cat. And a happy rescue cat. Rescue is the best breed.

I’m excited. In the office for half the day tomorrow and am also getting my nails done. Wahooo!!

Wolfcub · 01/03/2021 19:32

Unescorted well done to ds

Work was shite starting with a foul email from evil work colleague plus a good dose of just not being in the mood. Ds has also been foul all day which has not helped.

Received and put up a very cute bird box, am now watching hoping birds move in. I fear I may be a week too late

Wolf it isn't fun when you get shite emails.

It has been a really good year for birds so far - spotted about have been wrens, robins, blue tits, blackbirds, wood pigeon, geese, dunnocks, magpies, jackdaws, goshawk and curlews. I have also heard the barn owl (his mate isn't back yet so we only get the Tohoooo and not the terwit) and the night jar ( I am super excited about that because it is the 2nd year running and they are so rare). Night Jars have such a weird call I thought it was an alien landing last year.

Gensola · 01/03/2021 20:39

unescorted I saw a goldfinch and a bullfinch the other day on the river walk I do before lessons. In my last house I used to see the kingfisher often but haven’t seen one here. Off to Google night jar!

Mrsmadevans · 01/03/2021 21:15

Unescorted so glad you had a better day 🤗🖐️
I love the birds and bees too 😍
Thank you for the St David's wishes as well so kind of you ☺️
I saw a crow carrying stick in his mouth, for rebuilding his nest and it really made me feel happy to think here we are with all this crap that has been going on . Yet the birds and nature just carries on doing what it always does 🤗
Catface had a sad Start in life but she is so beautiful and happy with you Em it's so good to see a happy ending for you all ☺️❤️
DH is getting annoyed with me because l am on here instead of watching Unforgotten 😂

Fearofawelshplanet · 01/03/2021 22:07

Happy St David's Day!
Co op £4 off £40.00 spend, loads of bargains, saved 9.95 on a 43.00 receipt, really pleased. Hitting Lidl Thursday Mrs! Will report back..
Bit of a fail is that whilst ordering my daughters a pair of slippers I spent £40 on summer clothes, but in my defence most of my clothes are second hand and when the sun came out this weekend I didnt have one nice top (lockdown baking and weight gain, theres a link :( ). My husband has a fishing licence for fathers day so I am going to have this for mothers day.
1 cami top, 1 blouse, 1 handkerchief top, i vest top, 1 pair of Jean's, all flash sale items. Should set me up for the whole summer.

SnugglySnerd · 01/03/2021 22:12

I love watching the birds and have also seen loads this year (42 different ones to be precise, I keep a list!). V jealous of the goshawk though!

Mrsmadevans · 01/03/2021 22:31

Fear that is a good haul 😄
Lidls there you go ! 😂
Tip for you , their caramelized onion large quiche is Delicious eaten with a baked potato and a thick cut coleslaw 😋😋😋
Omg Snuggly 42! That is fantastic! 🖐️☺️

Unescorted · 01/03/2021 23:06

Snuggly I might keep a list here. Last year was exceptional with red kites and cuckoos which I have never seen here before. We tend to get as normal a lot of the "wow" species so I get excited when I see things that are normal in other areas.
