Hi.
Due to an illness I will be off work for about 6 months if not longer, so it is likely that I will need to apply for financial support.
Does anyone know if children’s bank accounts are looked at when looking at savings? They are under their own names and account numbers. But they are under mine too as I can access them when logging into my online accounts.

Can you access them to take money out or are they the type that can't be accessed until the child turns 18?

I think that's the crucial bit.

@KeyboardWorriers they are ones that money can be removed from now before they are 18.

If your name is on them and you can withdraw money I'm pretty sure you have to count them. Not absolutely certain but pretty sure we've had similar come up at work and they've been counted as the adults savings.
