Hi mums, would really appreciate some help and ideas of how to manage making some money when at home with a baby - it’s our first baby and I have no job, my husband does but it’s not covering our debt and bills each month... has anyone done anything like being an online PA? Or which survey filling sites actually make you any money? Would really appreciate some help or ideas as struggling and don’t know where to start!

Hello,

I use Prolific for filling out surveys and studies. It's really good, i've made about £157 in a year so it's not a big earner but it's a nice bit of extra cash which all helps. The main problem with it is you have to check the website for open studies, and they do get filled up quickly. It works well if you're online a lot though.

Filling in surveys etc will not make enough of a difference .

If you aren't covering your bills and debts then you'll end up in trouble sooner or later.

You need to considerably reduce your outgoings or increase your earnings by getting a job.

Thank you @swimster01 I am trying to find a job and reduce the outgoings - I just wondered if anyone had any ideas of something to do from home when you have a new little baby and it’s such a tricky job market at the moment. I am trying to sell things on EBay etc too

OK, well another idea is to enter competitions - there is a forum on Moneysavingexpert.com that lists them

Have you checked if you are entitled to any benefits? Were you entitled to maternity allowance?
