How did the appraisal go Em? It's unusual to be quite so wound up about it

ememem84 · 30/06/2020 22:09

He says it went ok. No idea why he was so wound up about it. I get that there’s a certain sort of anxiety re things like that but not really necessary.

@Mrsmadevans, it was an oasis of calm, we had a beautiful walk twice around the lake and then tea, biscuits and jam tarts we had brought with us. I’m going to book places for next weekend too, most of our local NT places are open. Sorry you had stress over the weekend, much admiration re your DIY skills.
@Lovemaltesers, I remember taking my engagement ring to the jewellers to be adjusted and the excitement when it was ready and I got to wear it properly. Happy days!

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/07/2020 07:03

Dutchess you have to book most nt placed now so check first.
Exciting love and sparkly.

£20 on top up at the co-op yesterday. Didn't get everything but that's ok.
£107 on a weights set. It's my regular class but good knows when we go back. I seized the in stock moment

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 01/07/2020 07:08

Yes, lifelong, will do. Meant weekend after next.

lifelongfrugaleer · 01/07/2020 08:49

No worries. Just didn't want you to go and not be able to get in.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 01/07/2020 10:13

Hi all we're okay, dd has been a bit better and is eating more normally which is a relief. I'm holding off talking to a dr as don't want to make it into a bigger issue if it's just a short phase.... will take day by day though.

Have bought a couple of lunch meal deals but no other spends I can think of.

ememem84 · 01/07/2020 10:44

I am in work!!!!

Hi everyone Grin
Paid yet another €800 rent as I'm no further on in my journey with buying house, hoping to meet solicitor next week. I thought I'd be in by now.

No other spends

Happierwithouthim · 01/07/2020 13:31

@ememem84

Yep snuggly I did. It’s annoying me as although I file my own form mine won’t get reviewed until he submits his. And until his is submitted and reviewed I’m still paying 28% tax. Ffs.
Annoying
ememem84 · 01/07/2020 13:38

V annoying.

£12 boots (paid with points) new eyeliner pens and some micellar water.

£27 in sale at warehouse on two tops I’d had my eye on for a while. Gutted they’ve gone bankrupt.

£7 today on coffee. Sigh. We’re not allowed to use the kitchen so I had to buy it.

Also £5 on two 2ltr bottles of water. As above not allowed to use the water machine.

Will take bottles home though and refil for tomorrow.

Ffs. Absolute clanger from our receptionist.

Message to call bob smith* no number, no idea where he works or what it’s about. Got stroppy when I asked for more info.

Of course he called from an unlisted number.

I don’t recognise the name.
*not actual name.

@lifelongfrugaleer, thank you, it would have been horrid to drive somewhere and not get in. I have just been on the Wakehurst Place site on the off chance and got us tickets for this Sunday. Already planning picnic!

@em, our team is having that problem at work too. We are not allowed in the cantine or any pantry, so have to take own food and drinks. I’ve had to get my thermos out and am contemplating one of those huge water bottles from Amazon.

ememem84 · 01/07/2020 14:52

A colleague came in today with a 5l bottle from tesco. I have my 2x2l bottles and a smaller one to decant into to drink from.

Oh good grief em.
£5.84 co-op

Wolfcub · 01/07/2020 18:07

Oh dear Em your receptionist sounds as bad as your assistant

9 ordering my mum a splint. Pretty sure she's got mallet finger (she caught it hard in her pocket). They are caring for my very elderly and unwell dgm so no one wants to be anywhere near a docs or hospital at the moment

EAM have you consulted a different vet?

Unescorted · 01/07/2020 18:39

Evening...

Mrs I am still living where I have always lived. My job used to take me North to the Scottish border, it now takes me south along the Welsh border. It is no hardship, but I do like the area Lonely is from. I have yet to visit where I cover now.

em I have had my appraisal and a development centre this week.... I managed to do that without being an arse. I may have been more heavy handed on my wine consumption, but I managed civility.

Girlie that is good news re DD.

Happier that is so frustrating. Do you know what the hold up is? If it because your vendor hasn't found somewhere I would suggest they move into rented so you can complete your sale. Why should you take the financial hit if they weren't in a situation to move? I am grrrrr on your behalf.

The highlight of my day is that the recycling bin goes out. I have also finished my Dev Centre.... it was a bonkers exercise 20 pages of emails to read through so that I could brief the new boss highlighting issues and risks. Some people didn't finish the reading let alone outline the brief - I was thankful that my mum insisted that I go to speed reading lessons as a kid to keep my Dbro company.

Unescorted · 01/07/2020 18:40

£800! that is madness. My dentist doesn't charge that much.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 01/07/2020 19:14

@EAM, I can well believe it re vets fee. We had to pay £1700 recently for our puss to have a CT scan and examination under anaesthetic for her ears. Much sympathy for you and your cat, hope it all goes well for him tomorow.💐

iwonttaketheeasyroad · 01/07/2020 19:21

Hello can I join please. Single mum of two , just been informed by work that we are all going down to 4 days a week due to impact of covid. So I need to survive on a 20% loss to my salary . So I need to be much more aware of what I am spending and much more frugal!!! How does it work ? Do you post what you spend each day ?

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 01/07/2020 19:29

Eem have you said to the vet you want the cheapest option? I personally would be very reluctant to spend that on an elderly cat unless I felt the quality of the cats life was being really impacted. Would PDSA help?

I'm watching Pulp on iplayer at Glastonbury and reliving it!! I love Jarvis, I must be getting old as I actually said to dd I feel sorry for her generation not having the fab music I had in my teens!! 🤣

Spent £66 in Morrison's, feel quite pleased as got a lot for that (had 10% off with my nhs card).

Also managed to take two big bags of garden waste to the dump and 3 bags of clothes and stuff to the charity shop.
