Happy Anniversary em

Unescorted · 24/07/2020 06:12

Poor Cat Sad hope he makes a speedy recovery.

em that is some steak - happy anniversary

Even I have got to the point where I.Just.Need.A.Haircut.

I am so looking forward to the weekend. Although the highlight is sorting the washing.

SayakaMurata · 24/07/2020 07:11

Happy anniversary Em, that steak looks amazing!

How is everyone this morning?

After spending money on coffee yesterday today will be a nsd. I will do my usual yoga, walk, duolingo language lesson, plus my Dad is coming round later for a cup of tea in the garden.

The other exciting news is that my local gym and pool are opening tomorrow. I've managed to book a swimming slot for next week. Apparently we will have to arrive in swim suits under clothes and get changed by the pool side. I don't mind that though. I'm already imagining the lovely cool feeling of the first push into the water, can't wait!!

Lots of 'firsts' for me this week! Grin

Wolfcub · 24/07/2020 09:15

Morning all

Poor dcat he's not going to be happy later

Need to take some shopping for dgm and dps this morning and put it away for them

Need to do something about the lawn. With all the rain it's about a foot high and I haven't been able to mow it whilst wet

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2020 12:09

I've listed a load of stuff on eBay and Facebook. Got my tip pile, charity pile and run out of energy pile

Bornlazy · 24/07/2020 15:14

We are home from the caravan and I think it did ds2 the world of good. We stayed for a full week and although the weather wasn't great he managed to spend some time outdoors fishing and playing football. he's definitely less moody teen now.

Money has been flying out my purse recently so I need to get back on track from next payday (Thursday) Tesco delivery coming this afternoon. I am so fed up with food shopping. Also need to catch up on a weeks worth of washing and I'm working the weekend so trying to do as much as I can today.

Unescorted glad your dm is out of hospital hope she is ok.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2020 21:21

£85 Sainsbury's, £6 coop getting stock outs from Sainsbury's.
Some stuff got eBay bids, some time wasters, le sigh

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 24/07/2020 22:08

Thank you for kind words about Mum. She says it’s been a bit of a shock to the system to go out again but she seems to be enjoying it. She has found a good appetite!

@Taytocrisps, so glad your pusscat is ok, hope he does well.

What a lovely dinner that looked, @ememem84, happy anniversary.

Morning Smile

Born - she has recovered well and is back to her irritating self. She was telling me how amazing my little brother was for taking a sledgehammer to a shed in the garden that is full of asbestos. I went from "I am not really sure why you think I care - I take tower blocks down on a regular basis" to full on "WTAF is he nuts" in the space of 10 seconds. Apparently he knows all about safe asbestos removal because he is an IT person. I know nothing because I am well... female.

I am so glad it is the weekend. It is going to be a domesticated one - bathroom, sort the washing, make biscotti, learn how to work the vacuum cleaner (it's usual walkers are away), waft the mop and de-house the spiders. I even had a moment when I thought the oven cleaning might happen... I need an excuse to put that off.

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 08:18

Less than five hours sleep again. Still no formal job offer so now looks like end of September at best before I'll see my pay increase and I'll be taking a £4-500 pay cut for each of those months because no temporary allowance either. I am absolutely fuming with my boss but it seems to have no effect. He just doesn't get why it's a problem. Hello well off male privilege
My stress levels are stupidly high

Unescorted glad you're mum is home but not so the sexism! Perhaps you could suggest your brother take down a tower block with his little hammer?

Unescorted · 25/07/2020 08:45

Your boss is a grade A fuckwit Wolf. It is also worrying that your organisation doesn't have a mechanism for you to ask someone else to put pressure on him. It will be impacting their budget forecasts.

She doesn't listen to anything I say - I have been doing this job (or similar) for over 10 years and she still can't retain even the name of the organisation I work for. She understands it is something to do with government because it gives her the opportunity to tell me one of her friends son's works for GHCQ - despite most people who work there will say they work anywhere else other than the spook industry. I now just zone out most of the time.

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 09:05

She sounds a bit like my grandma who has always compared me to the son of her hairdresser. A child who I mainly remember because he wore a grass skirt and coconut bra in a production we were in. "Well isn't it wonderful that so and so makes x for these people" (think piece of complex technical clothing and he measured people not made). Yes granny but I manage the people he's making the technical clothing for. "Now now dear he's so much better than you"

Unescorted · 25/07/2020 09:35

She doesn't quite say people have a better job, but very similar.

I am now having fun with the shed.... Apparently he had people come in and remove the shed and it's asbestos. They live in a part of the world where lockdown has been reintroduced.

ememem84 · 25/07/2020 09:36

Ah the sexism. Dm knows what dh does and respects his opinion on things because he’s man and an accountant.

I share same opinions sometimes as dh but because Dm can’t get her head around what I do my opinion is invalid on til hings like money, politics etc.

Dgrandma shares the same thoughts. But we forgive her because she’s 93 and grew up in a time when women were meant to not work and look pretty.

Before Shedgate I recommend that she watch Mrs America.... should send her sexism and homophobia meters into the stratosphere.

What temperature is considered a high temperature in the current environment?

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 09:55

Unescorted 38 degrees

Unescorted · 25/07/2020 10:14

Ta... it is less than that.

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 11:00

I have attacked the attic with polyfilla. Progress. Nothing going to exes this week though as my df is taking ds over

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 11:15

Gah Lucylocketloves have buy one get one half price today. So annoying I bought two pairs last night

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 25/07/2020 11:26

I've fallen off the thread a bit, hope everybody is okay.

I made it to Friday and now have two weeks annual leave which feels like a massive relief! I've still got some assignment work to do but at least I'm not juggling work as well.

Dd is very up and down, I had a zoom meeting with camhs and they are going to try and get a plan in place. We'll see I guess.

Ystd was a nsd, today should be a lsd although I do need to get some food bits so maybe not!

lifelongfrugaleer · 25/07/2020 11:42

Cancel the order and rebuy wolf. That is spectacularly shit of your boss. Knob.

Tip run done
£25 stables
Outlaws coming to us for a change
£3 cupboard handle

LaneBoy · 25/07/2020 12:37

Ooh what patterns did you choose wolf :) I’m wearing my recent purchase atm (think it’s called blot) and the other day found a gym top that is longer in the body so I’m happy and choosing to wear that sort of thing in the mornings instead of jeans etc. I feel so much nicer in it. DH is picking up my decathlon order today :o

🙄🤬 to the boss ffs

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 12:50

Where did you get the gym top Lane? I really struggle to find ones that are long enough for me to be comfortable in.

I bought misty forest and hydra

LaneBoy · 25/07/2020 13:37

It was from Yours so only size 16+ sadly! Even when I’ve bought ones that fit from regular stores, they just aren’t that long. Which I don’t care about at home but when I’m back to the gym I don’t want to be self conscious on the machines like shoulder press etc 😳😳😳

Off to look at those patterns. Will not be tempted. Nooooo.

Not NSD as DH is choosing me a resistance band in decathlon (the gym is open and I do look forward to going but I am really loving home exercise now!) and getting some door latches - we’ve decided to put them on the outside of the bedroom doors so we can keep them shut when nobody’s in them - Cagletini is keen on vaulting the stair gates and climbing onto windowsills 🙄 each room has a window with no lock and no safety catch (fire regs presumably) and I don’t enjoy the worry every time she goes upstairs 😳

Wolfcub · 25/07/2020 14:05

As a plumptious 16 that suits me fine Grin just ordered two
