@SayakaMurata do you have a kindle? If you do I’m pretty sure you can join kindle library on amazon and you get access to free books. You do I think have to share your library. But apparently it’s worth a try. I haven’t done it as can’t work out how...

£33 in waitrose today on yellow sticker chicken breasts and thighs, all today’s date but have thrown in the freezer and will use them in the week for lunch prepping. Also got stain remover as my kiddos are mucky mucks.

Dds new game is to scoot over to catface’s water fountain and splash in it. Keeping the kitchen door shut prevents catface from accessing it so I guess I have to make sure I watch Dd a bit more carefully.

Also £33 in waitrose home section I picked up some dribble bibs and a toy for dfriends baby (we’re seeing them tomorrow they live in London and baby is due in oct I think), some baskets for my make up and toiletries and a vase for our bedroom so I can have fresh flowers in here.

Korean bbq beef stir fry for dinner. The bbq paste was from M&S and it is so so good. Tastes yummiest on chicken. But yum on beef.

Took ds and Dd our for a walk after dinner. Ds rode his bike and Dd in pram. Dh came too.

mummy prior to exh leaving he did --nothing- with dc but he became a dad when he moved out thankfully

SayakaMurata · 19/07/2020 07:35

ememem I do have a kindle gathering dust, as generally I prefer real books. But I will look into the Amazon library thing. Thanks for the tip!

Yesterday was a nice day, and today we're packing a picnic and spending the day at the woods. So it should be another nsd.

I hope you are all well this morning, I'm finding this thread very supportive and helpful as I don't want to complain about money to people in 'real life'. My brother and his wife work in the leisure industry so are extremely worried about the future, and have both been on furlough. Compared to them I have nothing to worry about as DH is still working full time and is a government scientist so likely to be OK. I've just always earned my own money so am finding my current situation tricky.

ememem84 · 19/07/2020 07:58

sayaka I’m the same I prefer real books but am trying to declutter the house at the moment and am only keeping the real books which mean something or which are used. My bookshelf is full of mostly cook books.

Nsd planned today.

It's all relative saya. Other people's worries don't invalidate yours but IKWYM about not being able to discuss it irl

Mrsmadevans · 19/07/2020 09:09

Morning everyone 😀
What a beautiful wedding Beatrice & Edo had. I so hope they are happy🤗
Have to go to MumBobs soon so just a quick catch up. 🤗
Planning a Nsd hopefully 😃

LonelyOversharer · 19/07/2020 10:13

I ended up ignoring life yesterday, watched 5 rubbishy films on prime and knitting/stitching. I doubt I'll do better today.

It was a nsd, so there's that.

I feel "on pause" until I've talked to my boss on Monday. I really hope I'm fine, but you never know. I've made a point of never grumbling, doing anything anymore has ever asked and learnt every job (rather than my own and stuff the rest) as we have several distinct production processes. So I think I will be in a better position than some of the others, but they have been there 20 years, and me just 2.

Sorry to go on and on. I know none of you mind, but I'm pretty anxious now. Back to my methodical cross stitch, it uses lots of brain, so is helping a lot.

Bornlazy · 19/07/2020 10:25

Fingers crossed Lonely Being flexible should surely put you in a good position.

Nsd yesterday. Hoping for lsd today

xmummy2princesx · 19/07/2020 11:15

happier ex was crap all the time tbh. He did the bare minimum wiv the kids. I feel much better doing it on my own.

mrs it was luvly wasn’t it! And wearing the queens old dress and the tiara she wore for her wedding. Thought it was vry classy and she didn’t release pics til the next day cuz of captain Tom. I hope she has a vry happy marriage❤️

Fingers crossed 4 u lonely

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/07/2020 11:44

We don't mind at all lonely. It makes sense they keep the flexible people on. So fingers crossed x

I don't mind being ignored Grin

It's ok I knew what you meant.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 19/07/2020 11:47

Hi all!

Sorry I've not been posting.
We had some bad news, my mums cousin died (she was like an auntie really), so have been paying our respects and have sorted out flowers.
Then got told a few days later that my uncle has spine cancer, but they are hoping they have caught it early enough.

You have been chatty!

Love, aww lovely news on the wedding, so exciting!

Wolf, that really isn't on with work, can you talk to anyone in HR?

Happier, good news that the house buying is moving along, but should have been already.

Sea, your seaside trip sounded wonderful, hope it was a good day!

Em hope things with DH are better now, but also agree with others, you need to be happy.

Lonely, I hope your dp will be ok and I also have everything crossed for you and your job.

North, that is fantastic news for DH.

Aww mummy, your boys are lovely and I'm glad that your ex isn't going to fight for custody, those things can get messy and you and those lovely boys of yours don't deserve that.

Welcome say.

Unescorted good luck with the interview.

Snuggly, enjoy your summer. I broke up on Friday too, I'm really looking forward to the break, tbh, also agree though it was a very flat end to the year.

Born, glad you have had a chat with ds, I think the lockdown has been very tough on the young adults. Also things in Scotland have moved slower, so getting to your caravan will do him some good, hopefully.

Girlie, you would have hoped for better from the doctor, wouldn't you? Hope your dd is doing better.

So I've spent quite a bit over the last week or so, mostly on food, but also some new bits for our holiday plus the dcs needed new trainers, so they will have them for holiday and then I can only hope they will still be in decent nick for returning to school in Sept.

Also had a bit of a scare with our holiday, the hotel we were booked into isn't opening until September! But managed to get another one, well it's more like apartments, but is no mean feat with 13 of us going and it was £150 cheaper!

northender · 19/07/2020 12:26

Curvy sorry to hear your family news. It seems such a particularly hard time for things like that at the moment
Lonely hoping for a good outcome for you tomorrow & a big thumbs up to crafting to take your mind off it, it's a great distraction.
Love I did look at the Beatrice wedding and think of you! "Low key" is all relative isn't it?!

SayakaMurata · 19/07/2020 12:55

lifelong that is very true, I guess I always worry too much about other people's feelings!

SayakaMurata · 19/07/2020 12:59

lonely Wishing you good luck for Monday. Smile

curvy Sorry to hear about your bad news. Flowers

LonelyOversharer · 19/07/2020 15:37

Sorry life !! I had to read back to see what I'd said 😂

Pulled my finger out and filled the car and went to the tip. So I did something at least. Trying to get dp to pump up my tyres so I can go out on my bike. Its been sitting in the garden ignores fact it's worth more than my car so long it had a fushia growing through it!

Lovemaltesers · 19/07/2020 15:41

Sorry to hear about the job worries lonely. I remember how excited you were when you got the job.

We’ve been to choose wedding rings today, and my engagement ring was ready. Woohoo! Feels weird wearing a ring though, as I never have before.

Also bought stamps to post wedding invitations. Now need to write them.

In other wedding news, DP has his first falling out with his parents, which considering his have been so much better than my parents, I found hilarious 😂 . Luckily he found it funny too eventuallyand appreciated it was his turn.

ememem84 · 19/07/2020 15:53

I loved the pics of Beatrice’s wedding. She looked so beautiful (and very like her mum in the one where she’s peeking out of the arch!). Read comments about how the queen has favoured her over Kate and megs because she loaned her a tiara and a dress. I think people are forgetting she’s a) an actual princess by birth and b) the queens granddaughter. The others married in...

Busy day here. Friends for brunch which was lovely. Nothing fancy just croissants (store bought - I can make croissants but it’s effort so didnt!) jam and the naice salty president french butter, and a fruit plate - melon grapes and strawbs.

Been to coop for burgers for dinner and also got...baby formula three bottles of wine and some yoghurt.

Just cooked some chicken thighs for lunches this week - half korean bbq and half tumeric black pepper. Also cooked a whole pan of rice so it’s chicken rice salads. And hard boiled three eggs.

Both kids napping and dh is working. I’m having a lie down with catface because I was up a lot last night.

Just spent probably £60 on amazon - needed some mixing bowls and have also bought some Pyrex dishes to replace some of the take aaay containers we have, and a couple of new spatulas. Ooh and some new bedding (mattress protectors and sheets) for ds’ bed. He’s wearing day time pull ups at night now - we had night time ones but ran out and as he’s in pants all day he isn’t getting the use of the day ones. So wearing them at night. Needed extra bedding because he’s had an accident last night. Whether he just slept funny maybe who knows.

He’s doing so well. So proud of him.

Also bought Dd why is potentially her last box of formula today. We switched ds to normal milk after he was 1. So will do the same with dd. She’s growing up so fast!!!!

Curvy that is a lot all at once.

I have had a very dull day of prep and watching the boys get ready for their summer epic ride - they had planned originally to go to France, but have decided to ride off road from our front gate to Cape Wrath and back. We wave them off tomorrow morning and they will be back in a couple of weeks. It seems really low key compared to the Tour Divide last year. I am envious of the freedom their bike riding gives them, but then remember how much my arse hurts when I do a multi day ride.

ememem84 · 19/07/2020 17:26

unescorted wasn’t sure where cape wrath so just looked it up. Beautiful!!!

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/07/2020 17:53

Sorry lonely, I know you know I was teasing. Pleased you got out today.

I used to be a people pleaser and still do worry to a certain extent but the older I get the less fucks I give.

£21 cafe as took mil out. Le yum

I think Beatrice has had a hard time over the wedding wrongly. She looked lovely and yy like Sarah. So what if her gran lent her move. She is her gran it's allowed.

lifelongfrugaleer · 19/07/2020 17:54

More not move

Good luck unescorted boys

ememem84 · 19/07/2020 18:09

My granny didn’t give me a tiara or her wedding dress. She sent me the horseshoe which was on her cake when she married grumps. When we got married they’d been married 64 years and never a cross word allegedly

OP posts:
Lovemaltesers · 19/07/2020 19:12

Sorry to hear your news curvy Flowers

I’ve not got a famous granny to lend me a tiara sadly.

It’s sea who sometimes wears her wedding tiara whilst doing jobs around the house? 👸
