Lonely that counts as parenting in my book. Lovely to have you back btw. I was thinking of you at Christmas - I remember you making those knitted crib animals.

Wolfcub · 07/07/2020 17:31

Lonely sounds like you've had pleasanter conversations with your offspring today than I've had with mine. I'd rather he's stayed in bed

Tayto sorry to hear you are having a tough time. PMs always open if you want a chat. Glad the counsellor could fit you in

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/07/2020 18:52

Shouting to check for living children is top parenting IMO.

Sounds tough girlie with DD but I think you are handling it really well.

Love a storage box/basket,

Another tough day wolf?

That bench looks nice.

I mean to knit and learn to crochet, its part of my aspiration life. The one where I have time and money, tbf just time would do.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/07/2020 18:53

£6.50 for DS hair cut, the hansom little bugger. £1.89 birthday card, need to get balloons £15 but probably tomorrow, £36 blazer pending too just waiting to see if DD needs anything else from the uniform shop.

ememem84 · 07/07/2020 19:08

Spends I. Boots - but used points so doesn’t count. Nappies for Dd formula and a new cup.

Horrible busy day.

Sorry been MIA a bit this week.

I am loving all the stitching stories. And em they are beautiful storage baskets.

Sea I still find it really difficult to look at drawings and visualise what it looks like in real life.

Unescorted · 07/07/2020 21:30

life from another thread crochet on try You Tube - Bella Coco absolute beginners.

xmummy2princesx · 07/07/2020 23:25

North that is beautiful

ememem84 · 08/07/2020 06:36

north that is amazing!!!

But grey and windy here today. Jeans it is. Was going to throw a nice dress on. But. Windy.

In corona news here - 6 cases since borders opened. And A ferry arrived from the U.K. on Monday evening and no one was tested. Because it arrived at 9pm and the testing people had gone home. Cue people getting a bit mad because they were told to just go home and self isolate if they wanted to.

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 08/07/2020 07:09

That's amazing North.
Sunny but windy here. Washing in machine.
£20 stables today
£26 yesterday for cleaner

SnugglySnerd · 08/07/2020 07:21

North that's amazing! I wish I could do that.
I have got some felt and buttons and soft toy filling so dd and I are going to try and make something over the summer. She wants me to teach her to sew, it's going to be a case of us learning together I think!

Tayto I'm surprised at some of the books on the reading list for year 10/11 at my school, like The Kite Runner. Absolutely amazing but rather difficult content for teenagers.
I just finished Queenie last night, it was brilliant! First book in ages I've struggled to put down. I need something new now. I might try a classic, especially as they are free on Kindle!

ChristmasSeacow · 08/07/2020 08:03

North that’s absolutely gorgeous! I need to learn...

The Ocado app is back on line. I declare lockdown over! Grin

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 08/07/2020 08:18

North, your quilt is amazing!

em, that doesn't sound good, why did they let a ferry in if you have cases?

Sea, ooh thanks for the tip about the app!

NSD yesterday, won't be today, need a few bits, but will go for a run first, even though it is miserable out and I don't really feel like it. I'm sure I will feel better for it after though!

ememem84 · 08/07/2020 08:37

curvy because “if we don’t open the borders our economy will suffer. We’re losing £5miion in tourism revenue a week” allegedly. I don’t believe it personally.

My opinion is that it would have been better to keep closed and eradicate it here. Then lift restrictions (because we’re distancing at 1m and still restrictions re pubs bars restaurants etc). Then see how that goes. Then open up in full.

Snuggly I loved Queenie. I think it's a do not read if you're really struggling with depression though

LonelyOversharer · 08/07/2020 09:33

north your quilt is amazing! Well done on getting it done. I'm a starter. Getting that last stitch in or sewing up the knitting is the hard bit.

seacow a Long Dog Sampler. If you like cross stitch, seriously, don't look. They're huge and very addictive!

Off to a good start today (sacked yesterday) two loads folded, drier on, washer on, and 2k steps done while folding laundry. Did anyone else put on over a stone in the first bit of lockdown? I literally can't wear my (largest) jeans for over an hour, and there's no way I'm buying bigger ones.

Went for fuel yesterday, so £20 to get to asda (I'm over playing ⛽ 🐔) then £24 at asda topping the tank and filling the Jerry can!

I also spent £16 in hobbycraft, that's after using £5 vouchers. Another £5 arrived in my email as well. Shows how much I spend in there as you get £2.50/£50 spent.

Got a call from my bosses, they just wanted me to know that the email offering voluntary redundancy was not for me! So that's good.

But it's ok for people to come to the island, maybe infect others, than bugger off again transmitting it everywhere? Money should never be put before people, but unfortunately it is. I do understand that we have to get back to "normal", but Jersey is tiny!
SnugglySnerd · 08/07/2020 10:36

Just been for a nice long bike ride with dd1. Feeling refreshed and energised now. Ready to get down to work.

ememem84 · 08/07/2020 11:09

I know curvy

The rules are:

Get tested upon arrival - unless the testing people have gone home Hmm;
Go about your business as isolation is only “recommended” until you get the results.
If positive - quarantine is recommended

Note the use of recommendation. Not enforced.

Absolute shambles. No one here is happy really about it.

Oh em similar feeling here, we've been doing so well and we're advised not to travel but tourists are coming in.

Spends : Monday Lidl for school supplies €68.94, €6.99 going back
Tuesday: Aldi €42.75
Wednesday: centra €23 on 700ml Bacardi using a voucher, it's €22 in Tesco but it's further away & I'll spend more money if I go in there! Will see about something for bf from off license section too.
