Also. Catface is off her food. Unlike her. Vet trip?

ememem84 · 17/06/2020 12:09

Sorry. Yes. Beauticians are open. We’re on level 2 here I think. Ppe to be worn. So I had to wear a mask yesterday as did therapist. And same today. Beautician was in apron face shield and gloves. I had to wear a mask.

Not ideal. But if you wants appointments you wears the mask.

£45 pedicure. Nice treat. Gel polish so will last for a while.

LaneBoy · 17/06/2020 13:11

Oops so instead of going into town to get watercolour paper I looked on the Works instead. £33 later 😳 most is more art supplies for DD1’s birthday and a nice box to put it all in. Lucky girl. Just really glad she’s got so into art lately as we’d have really struggled with ideas otherwise!

Glad I increased our instant ink allowance this month, we have printed nearly 100 pages since 4th June 😳

No other frugal news to report. DH is emailing the stair rail people, you’re all right it’s better to get it done! 😀

Hi all!
Having trouble keeping up!

I was lucky enough to get mine and the DCs haircut this weekend because my we visited my sister, mum, brother and his fiancee for a socially distanced BBQ.
Also got some lovely news my brothers fiancee is pregnant, so happy for them!

I am spending lots of money on food still!

ChristmasSeacow · 17/06/2020 15:39

I’ve just spent £41 on the Emma Bridgewater site- we have a huuuuuge collection of their bird mugs and have to buy the new ones each time they bring some out. But we dragged our feet and they are about to be discontinued -eek - but very reduced - yay!

No work today but I’ve also got no housework done because DD has demanded a lot of attention. So nice to be able to give it to her though. We’ve had a lovely day together including a Cuddly nap

One frugal fail - I bought some trailing lobelia plug plants on line weeks ago, and they were delivered da couple of weeks ago. They were a absolutely teeny though, about the size of my thumbnail! Anyway, I planted them out at the weekend, all optimistic In spite of their teeny size, and then Realised that the tender wee shoots have been disappearing.... And then DH caught a squirrel eating one Angry. There’s hardly any left so I’ll need to go shopping for some more bedding plants for my troughs out the back door. Around 5m of trough so need quite a few... and I bet it’s too late to buy lobelia now and they’re my favourite.

On the plus side, it’s Day 5 of the blood sugar diet and it’s going pretty well - I feel good and definitely less bloated already 👍🏻. Quite irritating that DH won’t eat the meals with me unless I adapt them - but that just means I’m going to be chucking extra cous cous at him a lot. If I can get my house tidied up properly over the next couple of days and my eating under control, life will be a lot better. These things - my inner and outer state - are also very linked for me...

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 17/06/2020 15:42

So am getting a new reconditioned MacBook, it's much newer than current old one and will cost £450 ish, got to add windows so am assuming that will be extra.

Dd and I braved Primark, no queue to get in which was a bonus, spent £88!!! But about £40 of that will go back though, it's a pain not being able to try stuff on I store. Got dd a few bits which she really needed so pleased with that.

Need to do some more assignment work now and get off mn 😉

Em is your cat otherwise alright? If it's only been a day or two I'd keep an eye but not rush to the vets. She might just have belly ache or not be as hungry in the warm weather.

Congrats curvy!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 17/06/2020 16:13

Just reread my post and it should say that my sister is a hairdresser! That'll teach me for being on mn whilst walking down the road.

Sea, aww cuddly naps!
Shame about the squirrels though, glad the diet is going well for you.

Thanks Girlie, he has always wanted to be a dad, will just have to keep our fingers crossed for them that everything goes smoothly.

I also braved primark on Monday, got quite a few bits and some were reduced, £78, but was happy with everything and it all fits, mostly for the DCs, they have grown quite a bit!

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2020 17:13

I've had the least productive day in ages. I blame dd who asked me at 8.30 to help her with some Lego. I cannot resist Lego. An hour later I finally switched my laptop on . I think because I didn't get up and on it as usual I've struggled to get in the zone. Then an amazing storm started at about 3pm so I pretty much wrote off the rest of the day. I love a storm!

Lovemaltesers · 17/06/2020 18:32

Been really busy here so not posting much.

I’ll join your DD with the PMT today girlie, feeling really fed up, at least I’m really desperately hope it is coming 🤞

Even my free packed lunch was rubbish today. A wrap with salad in it, but nothing filling to it. I really hope the children who had that for lunch today had a decent dinner when they got home.

Shopped for my mum after work today too, which is a little bit of a chore after a long day. And I need to go to another supermarket at the weekend to get her missing dishwasher liquid as Tesco didn’t have it.

ememem84 · 17/06/2020 19:11

I took catface to the vet. It’s been 4 days. And very unlike her not to eat. Vet checked her over and took bloods (which came back normal). She’s eaten a bit of dinner. Not much. But a bit. She’s sunning herself on the chair

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2020 19:41

Oh poor Catface. Did the vet look at her teeth? Or suggest what might be wrong? I hope she perks up soon.

ememem84 · 17/06/2020 19:51

Teeth seem fine - bit of plaque but nothing to worry about apparently. Nice and strong she bit the vet

One blood number came back very very low (calcium levels) but vet said definetly a lab error as catface isn’t showing any symptoms of calcium dificiency.

She’s ok in herself. Still snuggly and cuddly. I’m going to give her some tuna in a bit. See if it perks her up.

But still £138 (!?!!!) later.... she’s worth it though

SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2020 20:02

She bit the vet! she Mog?! Grin Hopefully the tuna will do the trick.

lifelongfrugaleer · 17/06/2020 20:13

£21 Amazon but will also get same refunded as they have messed up 2 orders. .£20 stables

Hope catface picks up em. Defo worth £££

ememem84 · 17/06/2020 20:17

@SnugglySnerd

She bit the vet! she Mog?! Grin Hopefully the tuna will do the trick.
She always bites the vet. She hates the vet. 😂
SnugglySnerd · 17/06/2020 22:15

Our cat is the opposite Em, if we try to give him tablets or spot-on flea stuff he's little bugger, take him to the vet and he is angelic, he practically smiles at him whilst letting him trim his nails, inject him and stick a thermometer up his bum Grin

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/06/2020 01:40

£170 on breakdown cover for dh and I today as I'm driving to collect dds uni stuff from york on saturday.
I will get 75 back from topcashback but not for several months.

ememem84 · 18/06/2020 06:07

snuggly catface is funny. When it’s time to get in the box she sort of goes into that both solid and liquid state that cats can do. Then once she’s out at the vets she goes back to her feral ways. If I’m there with her it’s usually not so bad. But yesterday I wasn’t allowed in with her. So strangers....

Taking the dc to nursery this morning and need to go and pick up my prescription from the pharmacy on the way home.

Also need to stop dh nicking my work things. Yesterday I came home and he had used my notebook my pens and my mouse. Apparently he doesn’t have a notebook of his own that isn’t used for work....and has no pens. And didn’t think to ask his work for a mouse for his laptop.

He’s also nicked my lap desk.

I did work out yesterday that I can connect my mouse to my laptop (Bluetooth mouse) while he’s using it which causes all sorts of issues for him.

Have suggested he ask his office for one. And have specifically told him not to go through my work things because confidentiality.

I know it’s not a big thing. But it’s annoying. I was organised enough to bring things home so I could work effectively. He wasn’t.

Anyhoo.

Wolfcub · 18/06/2020 07:08

Em that would piss me right off. Do not touch my work stuff ever.
Dr is that breakdown cover for multiple vehicles? Seems a bit expensive although yay for cashback
Ocado shop and veg box coming today

lifelongfrugaleer · 18/06/2020 07:18

I would have hours of fun with that mouse. Grin agree though. He needs to sort his own stuff or go to a stationary shop.

Dentist for a check up today but all paid for monthly.

SnugglySnerd · 18/06/2020 08:15

I would be having fun with that mouse too!
Our cat does that things when we put him in the carrier where he splays out all his legs so he won't fit. Dd2 has learnt this trick now when she doesn't want to get dressed or get in the bath Grin She also put her arms above her head and sort or disconnects her shoulders so she is impossible to hold onto! She's a tricky one!!

ememem84 · 18/06/2020 12:05

today dh is sulking because I won’t lend him a pen. Or a notebook.

I don’t want pages being ripped out of my notebooks.

I’ve suggested he go into work and grab his ones from the office.

He has nicked the mouse again. Apparently I wasn’t using it (was watching a webinar). I’m disconnecting it adhoc. It’s hilarious.

Lovemaltesers · 18/06/2020 12:21

😂 about the mouse em. Does he realise you are doing it?

Torrential rain here ☔️

ememem84 · 18/06/2020 12:23

Yes. He does now. 😭

Payday tomorrow I think. Phew.

Savings need to be built up again.

£20 to window cleaner.

LaneBoy · 18/06/2020 12:57

:o at the mouse. The thought of having no notebook is impossible to me. Recently I collected all the half used ones 😳 in my defence some of them are exercise books a retired teacher passed on to us, but still 😳

I need to order DH a Father’s Day present. Oops. Been distracted with DD1’s birthday. I will have a teenager next week 😱
