Unescorted we have links to a couple of breed specific dog rescue charities if you fancy something slightly mental and energetic. Saying that the one I have lying on my leg (my dog-brother) is soft as shit and a lazy arse

Walked to my parents' house, waiting for them to get home from farm shop. Have made myself a cuppa while I wait

Unescorted · 11/01/2020 12:28

I am not going to lie... part of Badger's charm is that he is a lazy, easy going soul. I do like the lurcher type, possibly the wiry haired ones rather than the smooth ….but Badger is beautiful too. Wolf if you have a link to a lurcher rescue site I would love you for ever....

BuddhaAtSea · 11/01/2020 12:53

@Girliefriendlikespuppies what dog have you got?
Sold the old dishwasher, in effect paid £65 for the new one, so glad it went, it was in the way (middle of the living room).
NSD planned here :)

Taytocrisps · 11/01/2020 13:07

On my way to meet up with friends for a late Christmas dinner. We exchange presents (we do a kriskindle) but the presents tend to be silly things from the Euro shop rather than serious, sensible gifts. It felt funny wrapping Christmas presents this morning.

I've to pay one friend €102 for two tickets (me and DD) to see 'Blood Brothers' in February.

My large monthly Tesco shop arrived this morning. I can't check the receipt 'cos it's at home. It will be interesting to see if I've ordered enough to last the whole month.

Wolfcub · 11/01/2020 14:17

£10 bits from farm shop.

Lunch free at mum and dad's. Frugal win Grin

Unescorted ah sorry not lurchers. Spaniels

danni0509 · 11/01/2020 14:23

Haven't spent a penny for 2 days. Feels good

Taking ds to the park for an hour now and have fed him before we leave. Leaving purse at home, he has way too many sweets in the cupboard so the usual shop trip on the way back can sod off.

Don't plan to spend tomorrow either. Dh is home from work so he can buy a McDonald's for ds.

In fact, I'm never spending a penny again, I've turned into the tightest person on the planet literally over night Grin

Unescorted · 11/01/2020 14:52

Wolf I think a spaniel is way out of my bouncy league. They are very friendly though.

Girlie I suspect it may be expensive. So many coats, bowls, collars, leads, toys, beds, blankets ...not to mention insurance, food.

danni a NSD does feel good. from what I can remember

CurlsandCurves · 11/01/2020 15:14

£28 top up shop at Morrison’s. But £4 of that was the hot chicken purchase that I got suckered into by my youngest for lunch for him and his brother. And £6 on a bottle of Cava, well it is Saturday....

Good deed for the day done. I’ve got an Instant Pot but have still hung on to my slow cooker for ages. So I listed it on a local freebie page and it was claimed within about 2 minutes! Made some room in my kitchen cupboards. I should really go through everywhere as I’m sure there’s more I can get rid of.

SnugglySnerd · 11/01/2020 16:44

You know when you've cut up a lot of chillies and then accidentally run your eye... ouch!

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 11/01/2020 16:53

Danni that's for 6 of us but I will have to do top up shops I always do. I've never managed to do a shop that lasts a week. Also can't promise there won't be a takeaway or two 🙈

Today's spends
£10 in vape but between us we've already saved £72 from stopping smoking so that's not too bad.
£7.93 in Aldi on a couple of bits I couldn't get in Lidl yesterday

ememem84 · 11/01/2020 16:57

£47 petrol. This will last about a month.

Unescorted how about a rescue greyhound? They're basically couch potatoes and tend to be fairly low maintenance. The big costs so far have been food (£25 a month approx) and insurance (£15 a month.)

Sorry forgot which poster asked what sort of dog we've got, we have a terrier mix (yorkie/jrt) he's 7 months old and lots of fun.

New year frugalling commences. Save those pennies for January
Unescorted · 11/01/2020 18:17

I think a greyhound would be a good choice too.

em ouch!

LaneBoy · 11/01/2020 18:17

Spends
£2 different coloured tape to distinguish our electric toothbrushes (sharpie eventually washed off!)
£3.50 charcoal pencils

ChristmasSeacow · 11/01/2020 19:00

Argh, ran out of DD’s nappies (I’d thought here was another pack) - literally down to the last one. So off to sainies for me. Got the few things I needed (nappies, squash, cream crackers) and then I happened upon the heavy bakeware. So not quite on plan. I also bought a small 20cm frying pan (for scrambling eggs etc) as mine is no longer non-stick and I’ve been meaning to replace it. £40, but mostly bakeware and pan!

ChristmasSeacow · 11/01/2020 19:01

I hope @WreckTangled comes back

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 19:14

@Girlfriendlikespuppies you have a beautiful dog Smile
Didn't spend much today , lunch in Tesco's for Dh & l £10
2 x Charlie Bingham chicken tikka masala for £12 for DH he loves them , they are normally £7.50 each so l pounce when they are on offer Smile
We went to Costco too, there is so much to see there. I don't see much saving there to be honest though, especially if you buy non branded food & drink already. We bought a box of 50 Oat so Simple porridge sachets for 5.49 but in Tesco they were 20 for £2 so they were cheaper Grin. However the bakery dept is absolutely fantastic & the cafe is mega cheap. Baked potatoes for £1.50 & a hot dawg & soda for the same , not that l would eat either of them but l could see my DH necking it back Grin. I ordered a birthday cake for my Mum for her 88th birthday . £14.99 and l will put a pic on for you to see when we get it on the 30th Jan.
So not too bad a spend considering My DD2 bought a membership for COSTCO through her work and had 2 cards, so DH had it off her for his birthday in Feb , l can see us really enjoying going there and exploring it's massive , loads of food tasting sessions too it was fab little things please little minds Smile

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 19:18

@Wrecktangled is on the Christmas thread l am on , ahh no wonder you miss her @Seacow she's a darling, l am sure she will be back soon , everyone swaps and changes Smile. I am not sure if you were on the thread too at one time , your name seems familiar m'dear Smile

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 11/01/2020 20:32

Mrs we have a costco membership and it does work out cheaper for some things but I actually find a lot more expensive. Brilliant for fuel though and we seem to get more mpg when we fill up there.

My dc class Costco as a brilliant day out. Walking round trying all the samples then hotdog and a pop what more could you want 🤣

Fearofawelshplanet · 11/01/2020 20:41

Cheers mrsmadevansWine ...lsd today
72.00 Mr M's weekly shop
10.45 B&Ms marmite etc cheaper than supermarket prices.....

SnugglySnerd · 11/01/2020 20:59

Ouch, Em! I got dh to apply nappy creams as bedtime in case there was still chilli on my fingers!

Mrsmadevans · 11/01/2020 20:59

@We3kingsoforientareandabump
There is no petrol station at the one in Cardiff but the tyres look amazing value, they were so busy there, it must be really good service.
There was so much to see there we barely brushed the surface. I can imagine your DC enjoying it too Smile , they had lovely things to try and so many and the staff were so helpful. I have a feeling the TV'S and electrical stuff is very good value too judging by the few we saw , they had some lovely furniture there as well Smile. Sorry l have gone on a bit l can see we will really enjoy going there even if we don't spend a lot Smile
@Fearofawelshplanet , l do that too , B& M have Napolina spaghetti 1kg for £1.19 at least it was that much last time l stocked up I buy odds and sods here and there when l see them cheaper. My DD1 is very fussy over brands Hmm she will only have Napolina everything
spoilt Smile
