£27 amazon on new brush and filter for dyson. It’s stopped picking up annoyingly. Although not unsuprising as the brushes have partly worn away.

It’s 6 years old (I think) and I don’t want to send it away to be fixed and don’t want to. It a new one unless we have to. So new parts.

LivingInLaputa · 27/11/2019 15:34

£51 on postage!!! Shock wow em how are you feeling by the way? If I didn’t have you is the first one my friend showed me, also lullaby :o

Therapy was insanely good today. Hard work. Intense. Feel in a bit of a daze now! :o

Also given a bunch of hand me downs for DS so today is a very good day indeed! I’ve been so so lucky lately, I only really need to buy clothes for DD1 generally as she’s taller than her friends.

LivingInLaputa · 27/11/2019 16:29

Hmmm well I got through to the psychiatrist again and they’ve booked me an appt for a month later than I was meant to have it Hmm

But she’s written a prescription for the higher dose already so I can just collect that and crack on I guess.

ememem84 · 27/11/2019 16:38

Yep. £51. Have taken money from joint ac to cover it. I sent Christmas pj’s, books and milk and cookie crockery set for dnephews for Christmas Eve, their Christmas gifts, dnephews first birthday present, mils Christmas gift and her birthday present (her birthday was September but dh forgot to send the gift....)

Postage was less than last years - £58

I’m doing ok lap feeling a bit floopy occasionally but i suspect that that’s to do with the increase in meds. I’m trying so hard to make myself feel better too. So I’m drinking more water. Trying to eat more sensibly. Less booze. More outside. More exercise. Vitamins. And less screen time. More books. I’m currently reading a sweet valley high book. And listening to the handmaids tale on audible.

SnugglySnerd · 27/11/2019 18:25

Have you really been doing home ed for 5 years Lap? I remember when you started!
I out my foot in it with a new student today. I'd obviously missed the message about a new pupil (problem of being p/t) and he was delivered to my classroom by one of the "naughties" who will often find an excuse to have a wander around the school. I assumed they were both in the wrong place and sent them back to their lesson twice before they convinced me the boy was a jew student who was meant to be in my class! Luckily he saw the funny side and joined in with the lesson. I felt quite silly though!

Nsd. That's 3 in a row. I need to get a few things from the supermarket tomorrow though.

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/11/2019 19:49

Gosh I do too snuggly. It's was a tough decision for you but you totally nailed it lap.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 27/11/2019 20:06

Lsd, £2.05 in Tesco's on milk, ciabatta roll and a bag of crisp.

I was lucky enough to work from home this afternoon and surprised dd2 at home time, she usually goes to an after school club, she was very happy!

Unescorted · 27/11/2019 20:25

ChristmasSeacow · 27/11/2019 20:55

What’s up Unescorted?

5 years Lap Shock. I also remember The Big Decision

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 27/11/2019 21:04

Hop you are ok unescortedFlowers

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 27/11/2019 21:04

Hope!

Unescorted · 27/11/2019 21:54

Layering of life - combination of stupidity, arrogance, thoughtlessness and general day to day stresses. In the absence of walls to beat my head against in the internet I thought I would let out a silent scream.

I will be fine - I just need the next couple of weeks to play out. Thanks you for your concern. I love the support I get here.

ChristmasSeacow · 27/11/2019 22:57

I will add a massive ‘arse’ in solidarity, Unescorted as it happens, I actually have a massive arse . And FlowersWineCake

I’ve been reading but can’t remember much of who said what, sorry! Sweet kiddie pics though. And Snuggly, did it give your class a bit of a laugh anyway (in a good way!)?

Spendy. I’ve just spent £100 on White Company (with 20% off for Black Friday). I always treat myself to a winter reed diffuser at Christmas, and one for mum as she loves them too. And I also bought a photo frame thingy for mum (housewarming gift for her imminent house move) and a lovely footed glass bowl for me. Because I liked it.

Need to buy jeans from Tu while it’s 25% off as I have almost worn through both my pairs at the thigh Blush.

Day off tomorrow with DD, meeting an old school friend for brunch with our DDs, who are exactly the same age. We went to school miles and miles from here it have ended up close by in London, but she’s moving away soon Sad.

Oh, and I fixed the vacuum cleaner (found a blockage) but bought a new tumble dryer yesterday. Our other one was crap and I don’t think it was worth getting it fixed AGAIN when it barely manages to dry stuff even when it’s on form. Got a much more energy efficient one coming on Monday. Went via KidStart for a bit of cash back.

Am feeling very spent up and still haven’t quite finished Christmas shopping. I’m at the ‘lack of ideas’ stage for the remaining people Confused

LivingInLaputa · 27/11/2019 23:59

I hate that stage seacow I try and keep Christmas for as few people as possible.

Unescorted you aaaaargh as much as you need Thanks I like your swearing style by the way. Hope the next few weeks see you through to a calmer end of year.

It’s almost 5 years home ed, I meant 5 years since I’d actually bought uniform (they did half of year 3/1 respectively) so I’d bought in the September. Crazy. The Senco looked through some of DD’s work as I explained how our set up worked and how I’d made the resources etc, and said I had adapted it for their needs so well I should be a SN teacher 😅 so that was a nice little self esteem boost for me.

Tim Minchin was fucking brilliant. I expected to enjoy the evening but oh my gosh I spent so much of it crying with laughter. And one song actual crying. 😳 Also Wreck he ended by singing When I Grow Up from Matilda!

lifelongfrugaleer · 28/11/2019 06:51

Not going too report spends as will be evicted but garden is awesome and kids outside last night. £1475 for the balance

£25 gym, more spends for BF this weekend but then that's the big ticket items done

Which song made you cry lap?

The one that always gets me is the Christmas one. White wine in the sun. Ffs every time.

unescorted swear as much as you effing like.

Today should be nsd. Im planning on staying home until 5 when I go and pick up dh and ds. Then gym.

Ds woke up twice last night. I still have no idea why. Internet wondering suggests it’s because he’s 2. So that’s helpful.

I also really need to start giving catface more attention. So may get her brush out today and give her a niceness soothing brush.

Wolfcub · 28/11/2019 07:33

Unescorted CakeGin sorry to hear things are all a bit bollox, if there's anything you need tea, gin, primal screaming just shout

Lap that's a lovely comment from the senco

LivingInLaputa · 28/11/2019 07:38

Yes it was that one em! When he got to the bit about passing his baby girl round the family I just 😭 so lovely.

He also did if I didn’t have you with a band of 7. And sung a song that included the words Fuck Donald Trump. So that was cool. 🤣

Playgroup this morning, then DD has gymnastics and I’ll go swimming with a friend during that.

LivingInLaputa · 28/11/2019 07:45

Aw thanks wolf it certainly helped to hear it. I flip frequently between “yeah I got this” to “what the fuck am I doing” and various other negatives, especially the last few months. So to have some feedback other than the annual “yep great keep going” from the LEA was great - she pointed out some really specific things as well so it didn’t feel like a generic comment.

Nobody else is awake so I’m going to draw for a bit. Need to make more time for that sort of thing. Very much agree with your looking after yourself list em and hope the floopiness is better today Thanks

Great garden pics life! Will bring so much enjoyment for the family ❤️

SnugglySnerd · 28/11/2019 07:55

Yes they thought it was hilarious!

Lap yes you have totally nailed it!

ememem84 · 28/11/2019 07:59

Much better today thanks lap.

Dh was a bit 🧐 at me yesterday. I bid on and won some brio train stuff on eBay. Which I’m going to wrap up for ds for Christmas. Dh suggested we just buy new instead of second hand. But. The amount I’ve bought for £45 would cost well over £100 new. And does it matter if it’s second hand?? No. Ds won’t care. I don’t care.

Trying to start today right. Toast and jam. Earl grey. Satsuma. Apple. Handful of grapes. Juice. Water.

LivingInLaputa · 28/11/2019 08:09

Wow great bargain on the Brio. Totally agree DS won’t care. Wooden stuff especially is so expensive new and with little kids it will be chucked around and in not-brand-new condition very quickly anyway.

ememem84 · 28/11/2019 08:32

He’s got a wooden train set already not brio but is compatible with brio (I checked this a million times) and the bundle I’ve bought is just track pieces and a bridge. But he’ll love it.

What I want to get is small plastic tubs with lids to keep all toy types separate (train, duplo, toot toot toys etc) might keep things tidier.....

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 28/11/2019 10:13

Morning all, day off today thank God! Work has gone a bit mad and caseload rocketed 🤯 so am glad of a days respite!!

I need to go into town and do a bit of Christmas shopping, also need to walk the dog and am picking dd up early from school for the orthodontist.

Ystd I spent £30 on petrol (petrol prices have gone up again 🙄) also £2.50 on lunch from a bakery.

The little dog is doing well, can now leave him from 10am til dd gets home from school (3.45) with just a dog walker taking him out at lunchtime for an hour. I think that's good given he's only 6 months old. He doesn't appear phased at being left on his own, treats it as an opportunity to sleep!! Attached is a pic the dog walker sent me 🐶
