snuggly hahaha!!! Pooped in Sainsbury’s.

I’m watching suits now. Yay.

maddenlightfoot · 24/07/2019 14:35

I fell off the thread too! But now it's the holidays (finally the holidays!!) I'm back. Have already spent a small fortune out shopping today. We don't go often as it's my idea of hell usually and with three children in tow even worse! but I've been promising dd a trip to Build-a-Bear since Christmas to spend a voucher she had and we also went into Tiger, Lush, Smiggle and Claire's - surely the top 5 money draining shops known to man?!

Girliefriendlikescake · 24/07/2019 14:43

Snuggly 🤣🤣🤣 tmi!!

Happierwithouthim · 24/07/2019 15:17

Just caught up there now
north delighted that your ds' appointment went well and that you have a plan going forward with how to manage it.

em loving your updates of this time before baby's arrival
wolf my df donated €200 towards my holiday with dc, it basically paid for our meals out while we were away, I really appreciated it but I guess I only had to accept it once rather than you each time he does it. They just want the best for us and to help out when they can.

Df has also said if I do his vat return I can keep the money that comes back, he did this before when I was a teenager, and also my sis has done it for him so I'm not sure what to do about accepting this money yet.

My spends
Dunnes €131 including €8 on pair of sandals for dd, and used 3 x €10 off €50 vouchers.

Dm returned dd's other pair of the same sandals which the strap had broken on & I got €10 refund, as the first pair were reduced from €14 to €10 when I purchased them and second pair were reduced to €8 so she got a week's worth of wearing them with a safety pin attached on hols so got them grubby and then saved €2 getting a fresh pair Grin

Yesterday I intended eating lunch at home but dm locked me out of the house, accidentally so I purchased it from Centra shop €4.20

Happierwithouthim · 24/07/2019 15:18

madden definitely spendy shops Grin

ememem84 · 24/07/2019 15:24

Baby update. Still pregnant.

So far today have had breakfast with dparents. Have done a load of laundry and hung it out. Have had lunch. Have watched 3 episodes of suits.

Haven’t yet unpacked my boots order but have unpacked the amazon subscribe and save things which have arrived over the past few days.

Have had a nice chat with catface (who is lying outside under a bush).

And have wondered about googling ways to speed up labour. Haven’t done it yet. Ds was born 39+4. This is tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 24/07/2019 17:09

3 days early @ememem84, my DM was three days early with all her babies Smile

Car work was £223 and I spent £4 on a protein bar and water as I didn't have time to stop for a proper lunch. I'm enjoying a much needed cup of tea now.

SnugglySnerd · 24/07/2019 17:14

Definitely money pits madden. Also Hobbycraft!

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/07/2019 17:54

Too hot to do much here today dear dog was really feeling it

£9 coop this morning
£15 coop this evening
£7 drinks
£12 ice creams

Df paid for lunch but the above balances it out so I shan’t complain. Df’s bday today, gave him £50 Amazon vouchers as he is a nightmare to buy for and prefers to buy for himself

I have been covered in tiny black irritating bugs all day. Sooo itchy

Em raspberry leaf tea, pineapple, curry and sex are all said to be useful. The way dh has been behaving I’d go for the pineapple Wink

OP posts:
ememem84 · 24/07/2019 18:52

wolf I couldn’t find raspberry leaf tea, I love pineapple and were having curry for dinner. Re the other. As much as I’m super keen (ahem probably TMI) dh is not getting any.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2019 19:09

Thunder flies wolf. Doing my box in too.

Yy pineapple. Cba with sex at that pregnant.

£54 b&m water fight stuff.£10 spade, £25 Sainsbury's, £13.50 skate park, £55 Aldi. £10 chinese.
Best stop spending as will be skint in a week.
Full car to tip as we missed our bin collection when away Envy

AdoraBell · 24/07/2019 19:52

£2.09 on a Magnum 😱 no option because I couldn’t walk home without that. Too bloody hot here.

SnugglySnerd · 24/07/2019 20:11

SWFL just started on BBC 1.

ememem84 · 24/07/2019 20:11

life there’s also the fact I cba and logistically how?! I don’t need an answer to that

Watching shop well for less. 8 kids. Woah.

ememem84 · 24/07/2019 20:18

Also just had a pineapple ice lolly.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2019 20:18

SnugglySnerd · 24/07/2019 20:30

I'm still missing the mia frigaleers Life.

Em I'd suggest walking up and down the stairs for a while but it's a bit hot.

Girliefriendlikescake · 24/07/2019 20:40

My mum picked up something heavy which started labour with my brother....

Car came to £290, that's mot and service, it needed a couple of things but nothing major. Car savings will cover it.

Mum treated us to a MacDs which was nice.

ememem84 · 24/07/2019 21:38

😂🤦‍♀️ dh just suggested “doin’ it” to get baby out. My response was “that’s what got me into this position and I’m not that desperate”

Did not mean it like that. Oopsy. 😂😂😂

I’m never sure if I like SWFL. A lot of it is all sunken cost really.

moimichme · 24/07/2019 22:30

Haha em! Grin

Hope you're all coping with the heat tonight. Sounds like it'll be worse tomorrow...!

£5.10 on coffee and lunch at work because the fancy food at my students' graduation ceremony wasn't vegan.

NSD yesterday (7th this month! But not sure if I'll manage 10 in total)

Good night all.

ChristmasSeacow · 24/07/2019 22:46

I miss the crafty frugaleers too, especially Lonely’s knitting tales. And lots of the others - Jam, wreck etc. Hope they pop back.

North it sounds as though your consultant was great and hopefully her advice will really help. I have a close friend who has lived with CFS for years - it comes and goes. The hardest thing for her has been accepting the unfairness of not being able to do everything and saying no to joining in with some things as she has to budget her energy so carefully. But she’s had good management advice over the years and it has helped a lot. Good luck to your DS.

I’ve been SO HOT today. London is horrible, work was exhausting (no aircon), the tube is vile. Made a spicy rice thing for dinner that was really too spicy too - last thing I needed was to break a spice sweat! It’s meant to be 38C here tomorrow and I am a little concerned as I will have two kids to entertain and they will not think that my idea (of sitting completely still in a room with the curtains closed) is a good one ConfusedGrin. DS also won’t go in a paddling pool because he has a complete horror of getting his clothes wet. It might be a long day Hmm. I’ve got leave on Friday too as no childcare for DS while DD is at nursery, so I’ll try to think of something to do with him he’ll want to go on the bloody tube though it will be an nsd though as I’m not going out. Spent about £30 today on lunch and top-up shop for the next couple of days, fruit etc.

Oh, and also home insurance £530 . Good job it was payday.

DD’s bedroom was over 30C when I put her down this evening, so I’m a little concerned about that. I’ve just checked and it’s STILL over 30C, with the window wide open. I’m going to put kitchen foil on her windows tomorrow morning to reflect the sun.

LivingInLaputa · 25/07/2019 00:24

:o we tried doin’ that to induce labour with DS em - it did not work 😂

SnugglySnerd · 25/07/2019 05:29

I know what you mean about SWFL Em. They were not planning to race their kitchenware, fridge or settee so they didn't need to swap them for cheaper ones. I also think they overlooked the fact that some brands e.g. Lego have a good resale value so might be more of an investment than the cheap versions.

ememem84 · 25/07/2019 07:10

snuggly I hadn’t thought of the resale value of Lego to be honest. It made me smile when the cheaper “Lego” was praised because it could make 12 toys from one kit whereas the more expensive actual Lego could only make one. Surely that’s not how Lego works?! You build the thing from the kit then break it up and make something else. unless you have Lego Death Star or millennium falcon

I also figured they’d overlooked the fact that once kids grow a bit more they won’t need as many toys so money would be saved there.

I did like the university starter box though. Wish they’d had that when I went. Although I’m pretty sure you can just buy one plate etc if you need to.

39+4 today. Ds was born at this point. Dc2 is not going to be earlier than ds.

Today’s jobs:

Work/nursery run
Drop DMs things back to her (and sneak a coffee)
Empty airing cupboard and fold everything nicely so we can find things
Clear clutter from shelves in wardrobe.
Unpack boots order.
Look at amazon subscribe and save orders and remember to cancel things for next month which are unnecessary.
