Pleased the appointment went well North.

Whoever mentioned orange ice lollies yesterday - I’ve just spent £24 in coop. Mostly on ice lollies. Orange ones, pineapple ones, double raspberry magnums and crunchy ones. Plus burgers and kebabs for bbq later. And some juice.

Am now lying on bed. Windows open blinds pulled a bit. I have a stinking cold (where did that come from?!) and am feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Catface is lying outside under the drippy outside tap. Laundry is in the machine. I’ve thrown a half filled water bottle in the freezer so I can top it up with cold water later. And have already drunk almost a litre of water. It’s 31 degrees here already. Set to reach 35/36. A sea swim may be necessary later.

ChristmasSeacow · 23/07/2019 12:58

It’s 35 here already Em, and incredibly humid. London is revolting air quality and I’m melting. Also about to get on the boiling underground. At least it’s not rush hour!

Picnic this arvo for DS end of term so I’m taking a half day. Special picnic bread has been made. Quail’s eggs have been hard boiled for my princess, who won’t eat sandwiches Hmm

ememem84 · 23/07/2019 13:16

sea Eugh I do not envy you on the tube. Yuk.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 23/07/2019 14:55

It is super hot here too. Day spent beside the beach, bit of walking but mostly just sitting. Df and ds biked there and back and we drove to meet them

£2 parking
£4.50 cups of tea

Dinner our later and possibly ice cream if ds cools down enough to want to venture outside again

AdoraBell · 23/07/2019 18:54

Hot and muggy here too. £2.45 on a coffee after work.
£60 on groceries.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/07/2019 19:09

Back home. Boiling hot here too. Waking on but can't let it be darked on as thunder forecast tonight.

££££ spent but a good time had by all.
Now need to plan London

ememem84 · 23/07/2019 19:17

The inside of the car hit 41 degrees this evening. Ffs.

Dh is bbq’ing. I’m lying on bed wearing just pants. Trying to keep cool.

Girliefriendlikescake · 23/07/2019 20:37

Hot here as well but have spent most of the day in an air conditioned room helping with some training!!

Spent £61 in Sainsbury's after work, bought new clothes for our holiday and some other bits.

Got dinner in Sainsbury's £11 for dd and I.

Taken dad's dog for a long walk tonight, find that walking the dog gives me a really nice opportunity to talk to dd and have an actual conversation with her rather than her just grunt at me!!

Day off tomorrow, cars in for its mot so crossing fingers it's okay.

SnugglySnerd · 23/07/2019 20:42

Oops! Fell off the thread. Back now!
I'm also struggling with the heat but it must be worse if you are either pregnant or in London. Hope you are doing ok and manage to sleep tonight.

ememem84 · 23/07/2019 21:03

Had dinner outside (I put clothes on) locally made burgers sweetcorns and Portuguese rolls. It’s our wedding anniversary today. 8 years.

Still pregnant. 😂😭😓

Unescorted · 23/07/2019 22:07

It has been roasting here too.... we almost made it to double digits. Wink

north glad it went well.

Em how are we doing on Baby Watch?

Unescorted · 23/07/2019 22:08

cross post there!

Girliefriendlikescake · 23/07/2019 23:27

26 degrees here, way too hot to sleep and the dogs gone nuts, think there's a storm coming ⛈

Slight trauma tonight as some of dds fish died, we've tried really hard with these ones, bought special water purification stuff, changed the filter, cleaned them out regularly etc. Only thing I can think is the water in the tank maybe got too warm for them? Dd sobbed bless her.

ememem84 · 24/07/2019 07:32

girlie oh no!!!! Not fishies!!!! Poor dd.

Not as hot here today (only 28 degrees). I slept from 1130-230. Ds woke up and I popped him on bed with me and catface. Although he was more interested in catface than going back to sleep. Eventually he dropped off (around 330/4) and I put him back in his cot. He’s stirring now. Dh is not. But not my issue. If he won’t set an alarm he can’t blame me for him being late for work.

I’m the taxi service at present and can be ready with ds in around 10 minutes if we need to be.

Nsd planned today.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/07/2019 07:38

Spectacular 3am storms here. Em I admire how well you are coping being pregnant in this heat.

Girlie poor dd, it’s always awful to lose any pet

£4 last night for ice cream for ds. £15 coop for beer for dad and bread and some cider for me. Df paid for dinner out again. It’s lovely but it’s driving me nuts as I can pay my own way

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2019 08:13

We got the storms about 4am. Few rumbles of thunder and rain. Fresher this morning but it's going to get our again

Rest up em. Preggo and heat are not fun.
Take care other frugaleer in the heat.

Food shopping today but not much needed as have freezer stuff and we are in the big smoke next week.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2019 08:27

Forgive me though as I am using my tumble dryer to catch up on holiday and end of school washing. Too many socks and pants to hang out. There is some stuff on the line though.

In going to give DD old uniform to our food Bank as they have a uniform shop.

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/07/2019 08:33

Catching up on the news. Going to restart my Brexit stash. Something extra each week.

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/07/2019 09:01

Life I need to do that too as we’ve pretty much eaten ours except for a few tins. I need to rejoin the brexit store cupboard thread.

Thatsnotmyflamingo · 24/07/2019 10:09

Oh your DF sounds very sweet @wolf.
I have DH's car in for a repair this morning so that could be spendy. Will also be buying lunch out today as I'll be out and about with work later. I'll be in the neighbourhood of a really good Primark too, and I would usually be planning to pop in but I'm really not tempted at the moment, I really must be getting more frugal! It will be interesting to see if that lasts when lovely new autumn/winter clothes hit the shops, but at the moment, I keep thinking that we don't need anything, and i prefer to see the money going into savings for house renovations.

Girliefriendlikescake · 24/07/2019 10:59

I'd make the most of it wolf my parents always pay for meals out etc, I don't mind I know they can afford it though!

Just dropped the car at the garage for its mot and service, walked the dog back (about 2 miles) will be too hot to take him out again today I think.

So many jobs to do today and I can't be arsed with any of them 😒

Em I feel for you in this heat!!

ememem84 · 24/07/2019 12:56

27 degrees here today. Much cooler!!!!

wolf I’m just keeping on keeping on. Because I have to. No other way around it.

So far today I’ve picked up my order from boots. And have done some house chores.

Am about to indulge on ice lolly no 1. Double raspberry magnum. Yummm.

SnugglySnerd · 24/07/2019 13:37

Poor fish Girlie and poor dd.

Amazing storm here last night. We sat in bed watching the lightning and occasionally clutching onto each other when there was a really loud thunder clap!

I think I'll restart the Brexit box soon too, we'll get our holiday done first. We've eaten the last lot!

Take care, Em. We just pooped in Sainsbury's and it was lovely and cool if you need to go somewhere to cool down!

SnugglySnerd · 24/07/2019 13:37

*POPPED in Sainsbury's Blush
