Oh yes, £25 ish on food and vegan snacks for our trip and £7 cafe with ds.

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/05/2019 20:29

Dh is marathon training and a pain to buy for. Just plain black with stripe. More mile is the brand.
Most of the new look stuff will be going back tomorrow.
£52 Sainsbury's but that is a shop until probably Tuesday.
I like lamb but don't tend to buy it. Might get some next week.

happytobemrsg · 23/05/2019 20:50

NSD! Had a few games of pool with DH once DS was in bed (our dining table turns into a pool table) & think I’ll go & read my kindle in bed for a while (DH is in the gym with a client). Back to work tomorrow. I’m taking in breakfast & snacks but will grab a sandwich for lunch so hopefully a LSD tomorrow.

SnugglySnerd · 23/05/2019 20:51

I have also overspent in May and we still have a few unavoidable purchases to make like niece's birthday present and dd's school trip. Neither are very much money though. I've just got online and sorted out money. Happily we have saved enough childcare vouchers to cover June without paying any extra so that will help compensate for May! Then just 3 weeks childcare in July and 6 weeks off although I'd like to save a little bit in the next couple of months for a summer hols entertainment budget. Hopefully we'll have a dry summer as free entertainment is easier then.

Hope you are ok Curvy. That sounds quite big.
Well done for starting to sort things out today Cag.

Girlie which celebs did you spot at Chelsea?

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/05/2019 20:58

We spent money like water in may. Dh gets paid tomorrow and me Friday after. Need to rein in June as July/August will be pricey

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 23/05/2019 21:35

£20 dinner out
£4 parking
£10 taxis which I can reclaim
£15 coffees for my team

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 23/05/2019 22:03

Thanks all.
I'll be ok. Will just have to wait for the results to go back to my Dr, then I can discuss options.
I would like the ovary removed as it has been giving me pain for a number of years, and I take co-codamol to help, but that doesn't always work.
Would they consider that??
I'm 40, have 4dcs and don't want anymore children.

ememem84 · 23/05/2019 22:04

Just been watching “nailed it” on Netflix. So funny

Tomorrow should be nsd. Yay.

Girliefriendlikescake · 23/05/2019 22:05

Here's who we spotted at Chelsea 😁

Can't face posting spends today but it was all stuff that was needed pretty much 😬

Great pics, Girlie!

So tired. Dcs had me up at 5. I should have gone to bed ages ago but started doing jobs and lost track of time. I will pay for it tomorrow!

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/05/2019 06:31

Ooo 2 of my favourites girlie.

Nsd planned today

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/05/2019 09:48

Curvy I hadn’t seen your news, you must be very uncomfortable I hope they listen to what you want.

£26 tinting and waxing.

Great pics girlie

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 24/05/2019 12:45

£470 forest cabin for next week. About 150 more than I was looking to spend on a cottage but being in the forest does you good and I can pay for ds to do a few activities which he will enjoy. Call it my birthday present to myself

Cagliostro · 24/05/2019 13:48

Sounds great wolf and worthwhile!

Aaaah I didn’t even consider a sporting reason for compression socks

I have put in SAC request for the CAMHS referral letters at the doctors, this should provide a little backup in our claim, particularly because it says about the fact his behaviour is getting worse and has specific examples of his impulsivity. Here’s hoping.

Also going to book a free hearing test for myself (and Caglets if they are eligible) as need to start the ball rolling with audiology referrals for the three of us.

WreckTangled · 24/05/2019 13:51

Ooo cag I can do their hearing tests Grin shame I'm not a bit closer.... your gp/school nursing team (even if home schooled) can refer to audiology. Parental concern is a good enough reason to refer.

darkriver19886 · 24/05/2019 16:57

£40 for therapy. Normally have a take away after but I was overwhelmed after the session.

Cagliostro · 24/05/2019 17:02

Oh cool :o there were signs up for free hearing tests so going to do them first as I figured that would be what the GP tells me to do first anyway just to rule out any obvious issues. Just waiting on a call back. I’m not really sure if there’s any chance TBH, especially as an adult... basically what I want to try is an in ear white noise generator. Both Caglets and I have huge issues hearing when there is any other noise around and it causes massive anxiety. My friend’s boys have the WNGs and the difference when they aren’t wearing them is SO clear. I’ve known this for years since I met them and yet it only just occurred to me that it may actually be helpful for us too 🤦‍♀️ They have them from NHS but I think if anything I’ll have to reeeeeally fight for them for me. Worth a shot though as it has a massive impact on daily life.

Also had a lovely chat to someone at carers support. ❤️

Big Bang Theory finale last night 😭😭😭 I sobbed.

Cagliostro · 24/05/2019 17:04

Oh dark I’m sorry, therapy can be super tough, bringing things up. Be kind to yourself x

Amazon echo dots are down to £30 again if that helps anyone. Been hoping for a sale before DD’s birthday :o anyone know how long these things usually go on sale for? Would like one to put aside for DS too but his birthday isn’t till August.

darkriver19886 · 24/05/2019 17:12

Thank you @cagoliostro. I don't know about the length of sale but I have the Echo 2 gen and think it's brilliant.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 24/05/2019 18:02

Thanks wolf.
I have pain killers to help, just co-codamol, I tried to get something stronger, ( I had a chat with a Dr over the phone, who said I would have to wait for the results to get back before they would even consider trying a new medication! It's like they don't think I know my own body!)

The pain can be pretty bad, but as long as I take the co-codamol in time I can usually manage.

SnugglySnerd · 24/05/2019 19:34

Cag thanks for mentioning the White House generators. I have never heard of them. I suspect that might really help a lad at school. I might mention them to his mum. I wonder if they might also help my mum who has tinnitus and struggles to hear well when there's background noise?

NSD and it's half term. Hooray!

SnugglySnerd · 24/05/2019 19:35

White noise not house! Stupid phone! Although something to cancel out the noise from the White House would also be good Grin

Cagliostro · 24/05/2019 19:44

Hmm, unless they actually generate the White House 🤔 not so good under current president :o

Yes I posted recently about them and one MNer responded saying she had them for tinnitus! So could be good in both cases. :)

TwllBach · 24/05/2019 20:11

Please may I join? I’ve been awful with money since DS was born and he’s three now. 18 months befire he was born I was ousted from my home with (abusive) ex and spiralled into a bit of debt. Before that I’d never even had an overdraft and now, one period of homelessness, one maternity leave and one quitting of my teaching job later, I’m broke!

I recently got a pay rise and more responsibility at my new job and I think this is the first month that I won’t be scrabbling around to top upmy wages from Quidco etc. I want to pay off my debt and start savings again.

My biggest expenses are eating out (DS and I go for breakfast a lot Blush) and travel as a round trip to work is £11 in petrol.

I’ve phrposefully had a NSD today. DS and I made egg muffins for breakfast and then went halfway up a mountain with a picnic made up of stuff from home. DP and I are having bolognese from the freezer for dinner and I knocked up some coconut fried rice for lunch tomorrow.

I work Saturday and Sunday 11-6/7/8 and those days are always my biggest spend days because I often spend on binge eating at work!

happytobemrsg · 24/05/2019 20:29

I’ve spent £11.70 today. I bought a sandwich & brownie for lunch, some gaviscon (I had to buy the big bottle to avoid the yucky aniseed flavour) & some hairbands (mine tend to disappear into a black hole after a couple of wears). Not a hugely expensive day.

Fab pics Girlie!

That sounds lovely Wolf. We’ve been going to Centreparcs every year & we all really enjoy it - it sounds like you’re doing something similar.

I’m waiting for DH to catch up on Big Bang cag so I can watch the finale. I can’t wait!!
