I have floor envy

Cagliostro · 06/06/2019 23:09

That looks amazing!

Yep (tmi alert) they are definitely heavy, you’re supposed to be able to leave it in 12 hours but the first 36hrs or so I’m changing it every 4 🙈 however it’s worth it because that was hell for flooding with pads/tampons and I just felt “icky” the whole time. With the cup I can genuinely forget about it and also it seems to get my period over with quicker. I’m already feeling like I could use it for swimming too. Total convert already and I was really SO worried I would find it hard to use (I’m horrible at coping with smear tests etc) but a bit of YouTube searching - a young lady who presents videos for Precious Stars Pads channel is fantastic - and practice and it’s all good. It’s definitely worth watching their video on choosing a cup as there’s quite a range now. It actually feels life changing already if I’m no longer confined to the house for several days a month!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 06/06/2019 23:16

Great floor Girlie.
Cag, I have a mooncup and it has been a game changer for me too, just wish I did it years ago.

NSD today, first all week, must do better!

ememem84 · 07/06/2019 05:55

I’m still not convinced re mooncup. I may give it a go though once I’m done with baby.

5 weeks slept of work. 7 until due date. 9 weeks max left. 😀

We watched two episodes of Chernobyl last night. I’m fascinated by this now. Have been researching etc as it’s something I knew nothing about. Other than it happened.

Had dinner with dparents last night as dh had accupuncture and the place he goes is right near their house. Ddad cooked a curry. It was ace!!!

They picked Ds up from nursery and apparently he screeched with excitement when he saw them. So lovely.

We have a storm a coming here today. It’s been raining overnight and the wind has really picked up.

Happierwithouthim · 07/06/2019 06:48

Floor looks lovely girlie
Em wow can't wait to hear about your baby news

Someone I follow on Instagram had her second baby yesterday both babies born on their due dates weighing the exact same weight, isn't that mad Shock

Yesterday I spent €14.50 on food in cafe with ds & 60c on parking
€58 on thank you cards for DD's communion 30+10 free cost the same as 40+10 free from an Irish company who donate to LauraLynn foundation. It's a site that only sell baby thank you cards but I made it into communion thank you card

ememem84 · 07/06/2019 07:23

happier YOU can’t wait?! Haha.

I’m seriously sick of pregnancy now. This is absolutely the last time. But not long to go.

(I also appreciate that I’m lucky enough to have been able to do this again and have had no complications so far so really shouldn’t moan about it)

I’m looking to open an investment account. We have a joint one. But I have some some savings in my Hsbc ac which just aren’t earning any interest. So I figured I might invest a little bit. Not sure what in yet so need to give that some thought too.

It’s a shame I didn’t take my bosses advice and invest in my clients family business a while ago (public company). They recently sold it. Share prices rocketed up 17%. Nite - we don’t have anything to do with the family business just the family’s personal wealth. So wouldn’t have known the business was being sold until it happened.

cag re matched betting I’ve tried it recently. I think the idea is that you set up accounts with bookies online (I have betfair and paddy power) and then do opposing bets. So I bet on the champions league final. One on Liverpool. One on Tottenham. Not much - just £1 or usually my bets are 50p.

I’m not great at it. But I think I need a better understanding.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/06/2019 07:37

£19 top up Sainsbury's yesterday.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/06/2019 07:38

Lovely flooring girlie, em that will soon for by.

Happierwithouthim · 07/06/2019 08:25

Em my second pregnancy while very much wanted was 7 months of complete torture & I knew for certain by month 4 that it was certainly the last pregnancy for me so I know exactly what you mean, where as I enjoyed all of my first pregnancy. And you didn't expect yours so soon.

Ds spent €19.70 yesterday so all that was in his money box plus his pocket money
Dd spent just her change from school tour money
I forgot €2 on a cone for me

CurlsandCurves · 07/06/2019 09:16

Lovely flooring girlie

em I know how you feel. Asmuch as my second pregnancy was very much wanted, I was very much over still throwing up at 30 weeks. Baby will be here before you know it.

Managed to smash my phone screen yesterday. But it’s hopefully going to work out really well and save some cash too. Mine and DS1’s contracts both run out in about 3 weeks anyway. DS1 has an inset day today so we are both going to get them sorted, maybe save some money, I’m sure I’m paying too much for his. And I get a new phone to replace the smashed one. AND if I get my smashed one repaired then DS2 can have it for his birthday! He’ll be really chuffed, that will mean I’ve managed to get him everything on his birthday list (apart from a puppy, which is definitely not happening).

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/06/2019 09:19

Inset day here. DC loving the screen marathon

Lovemaltesers · 07/06/2019 12:24

About 6 weeks after having DD2, I really wanted a DC3. Common sense has prevailed so far and as my two DC get older I really can’t see how the finances would work for another. I accept i’m not normal though!

maddenlightfoot · 07/06/2019 16:46

After first dd we were in such a bubble that I thought I'd always be happy with one... of course, once we did think of having dc2 and struggled I couldn't think of anything else!!

Had we not have had twins I have no doubt that we would never have entertained the idea of dc3 (financial, space in the house, logistics, sanity 😂), but I suspect I would have always felt a 'what if' kind of longing. Now with 3dds I can happily report that I have no lingering broodiness. It's actually really refreshing to hold a baby, enjoy the cuddle and enjoy the handing back!!

NSD today woohoo!!

I've had time this afternoon to prep dinner so am currently enjoying lying in the playroom with a cuppa whilst the little ones are playing rather than me trying to frantically cook whilst also running back and forth refereeing!! I must get in to batch cooking more as I could get used to this!!

Wolfcubisthefemalenominal · 07/06/2019 17:48

£51 diesel and £58 Sainsbury’s

SnugglySnerd · 07/06/2019 18:00

Our dc2 was also twins Madden. I know what you mean, we only planned to have 2. It was costly as we had to buy a much bigger car to fit 3 x car seats plus double buggy. Also a second cot, bouncer etc even though we had saved dd1's stuff. Nursery fees are quite bad but I'm dreaing what it will be like if they end up going to uni. At the same time!
Nsd today. A whole week!

maddenlightfoot · 07/06/2019 19:30

If you keep going with week long NSDs snuggly, uni costs will be a breeze 😂! How old are your twins? Have you gotten over the shock yet? (I still do a double take / pinch myself now and then and mine are almost 3!!). We have a nanny, which sounds extravagant but actually works out cheaper than two at nursery - I sympathise, it's eye-watering 😩

Cagliostro · 07/06/2019 19:35

I would happily do pregnancy again and I don’t think I’d ever not feel wistful at the idea of another snuggly newborn. However I absolutely am done. DC3 while bringing huge amounts of joy and laughter has also brought more chaos and exhaustion than I ever imagined! I’ve found it hard to go back to the baby and toddler stage and I’m happily done now.

Went for a quick swim and steam today. Feel so much better for it.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/06/2019 20:18

Nope 2 here and no more than 2. Hated pregnancy X2, my body is wrecked as was my MH.
Not pushing an 11lber.
Cba to go food shopping. DH and the DH will have to scrape thought this weekend

Girliefriendlikescake · 07/06/2019 21:29

I'd have liked another baby had I been in different circumstances, I had a bit of a rubbish pregnancy (gallstones) and traumatic birth so would have liked a hopefully more positive experience! That said I honestly think if I'd not had dd I don't think I'd have any children so I count myself very lucky.

Long day today, tired now.

Managed a NSD.

Thank you for all the floor love, I'm really pleased with it 😍

ememem84 · 07/06/2019 22:17

£5 lunch.

Pasta with cheesy sauce for dinner.

Finished Chernobyl.

Windy as hell here. Storm warnings all over the place. Catface is trying to sleep on my pillow and on my face. I think the winds freakjng her out a bit.

Unescorted · 07/06/2019 23:13

Evening peeps - sorry been really pants about posting. It has been mega busy here so before I get to post I end up being distracted.

Hello to new people, and returners - it is lovely to see more people here again.

wolf how is the accidental promotion going?

Happier don't give him the 50 euro if you aren't absolutely guaranteed to give it back....I am assuming that you didn't get a retrospective contribution for DD's confirmation party.

em I hated the last bit of pregnancy ( well most of it actually...but who was watching the clock).

Meadow hope you are finding it a bit easier now with the feeding.

cag that is shit news about your DS DLA - hopefully you are successful at appeal. It is such a rubbish, heartless system. This govt is totally shameless.

I am in awe re the walk along the Camino way - that is a serious trek. I have just come back from the coast to coast cycle & that was hard enough.

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/06/2019 07:53

Ok well done on your c2c unescorted. Spendy weekend ahead. Girls night out tonight.

SnugglySnerd · 08/06/2019 08:03

Mine are nearly 2 and a half Madden. They are hilarious and exhausting in equal measures! I know what you mean about it not sinking in yet, I often think to myself "How did I have twins?!" They are fabulous though.

maddenlightfoot · 08/06/2019 09:15

A gorgeous age snuggly! I'd happily have another toddler, just not the baby bit beforehand. Toddlers are so cute and funny (even if they have turned me grey and wrinkly!)

Unescorted I am seriously impressed with the cycle! I can walk and walk and walk some more but can barely cycle to the local shop 😂!

Fingers crossed for frugal weekends all round xx

Thatsnotmybaby · 08/06/2019 09:26

Spends yesterday:
£4 salad for lunch as I was too tired to think about bringing lunch with me (I have been feeling rubbish all week with a virus). I resisted the more expensive/less healthy option of going out for pizza though.
I love the floor @Girliefriendlikescake!
