What are you doing during the holidays to entertain the kids and how do you keep costs down?

Looking for ideas

Our local libraries, museum, children's centre and shopping centre have free activities.

Local leisure centre has free kids swimming at certain times.

Saturday and Sunday kids am cinema for £1.99. - take our own sweets and drinks.

Walks, bike rides, scavenger hunts, orienteering, Park (with football), friends over to play, beach, forest walk and den building, baking cakes....

In addition to previous poster.

For days out I joined National Trust. Take a picnic and you have a cheap day out. I pay single parent family membership and it is just over £6.25 a month.

Use my tesco club card days out on attractions within an hours car ride and take a picnic.

Some museums and art galleries are free and have free kids activities.

Countryside centres or animal rescue places are also often free or cheap to visit.

Hobbycraft have free Easter themed craft workshops - today we coloured in paper eggs.

Pets at home have free workshops where the kids can cuddle small animals, they get a certificate and goody box too.

My local theatre has a special "kids go free" musical production.

Every local attraction seems to have an Easter trail costing between £2 or £3. I buy just one sheet to share for all my kids and stash some cheap Easter treats in my bag to give out.

Wyvedale garden centres are doing a free Easter trail with chocolate prize.

Have you made Easter nest cakes? Or decorated Easter biscuits.

We have had picnics nearly every day!

Lots of low cost things on at Easter.
