No spend week anyone?

Long time lurker on the credit crunch topic ... love all the helpful ideas.

I have planned to spend nothing for this final week of October, before we break up for half term next Friday. We'll then have a little extra to spend on fun in the holiday.

I have meal planned for today until Friday using up stuff in the cupboards and freezer (breakfast, lunch & tea). Hopefully don't need to go to the shop.

Wondered if anyone fancied joining me for the week?

My plan is:

Chicken curry, rice & naan
Pork chops, mash & frozen veg
Jacket spuds, cheese & beans
Sausage, mash & frozen veg
Pizza
Chicken strips & wedges

I'm in!
I have a spending addiction that I'm trying to tackle so I want to challenge myself to not spending on unnecessary items or items for myself.

I don't need anything so you'd think it would be easy Confused

Your meal ideas sound really nice.

Morning CuntyBumpkin
It might be just the two of us, but I'm sure we'll do well - it's only a week after all.

My meals are based on what meat & veg I have in the freezer plus a large bag of spuds. I may run out of milk and bread but we'll cross that bridge when it comes to it!

Good luck!

Great idea before half term

Today went well. Stuck to the plan and freezer looking much clearer already.

DH snuck off and bought a loaf of bread though!

I am trying to have a low spend half term here. Lots of play dates and free playgrounds plus we have our English heritage passes so will try to use them. I have to save some money before Christmas, plus want to try to stock the cupboards up with tins before the big freeze that this winter is meant to bring which will mean an extra fiver a week on the big shop. Keep us posted OP, always nice to share ideas.

Some great ideas there SandysMam. We are away in a static caravan next week so might be a bit spendy, although swimming & entertainment is free on site.

I would like to stock up a bit before Xmas but do worry about my chest freezer if there was a power cut!

Good luck this week Smile
