Thanks wreck, yes I could so there are lots of options, I will be updating my CV soon and will probably contact a few agencies to increase those options.

I won't lie, it hasn't been easy, I had to do English, Maths and ICT on top of all the coursework and our youngest suffers from absence seizures, so has regular hospital appointments, but it is very well controlled now with her medication and she hasn't had a seizure for a while. Anyway it has all been worth it.

Cagliostro · 12/10/2018 21:08

Oh and frugal win we got free magnums today. The guy from the little refreshment hut came over during sports club and said he was closing up for the winter and had some going spare. So after the lesson we all went up there. I had double caramel. Yummmmmm. Was a great sports session too, £46 made for 2 hours (between cash and PayPal) woohoo

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/10/2018 21:08

Sorry my previous post was very me, me, me!
I guess this is what happens when one doesn't post for a while.

Thank you cag

Lovemaltesers · 12/10/2018 21:13

£4.50 on cheesecake and bagels. Obviously Friday night essentials. One week until half term!

Great news lonely and hope you love your house now it is yours em

I got to offer someone a job today Smile I like being the bearer of good news. Recently I've been telling people when they are unsuccessful so nice to do this bit.

Cagliostro · 12/10/2018 21:14

Don’t be daft curvy post what you want and need to. Goodness knows I do 😂😂😂

Sorry about the seizures, that must be stressful. Glad the qualification opens so many doors for you.

I would not be able to manage that sort of job now but I did a lot of volunteering in nursery/school when the Caglets were little and I loved it, so rewarding and definitely gave me more appreciation of what staff do.

On the subject of work I should be receiving the first couple of chapters of the author’s second book soon. It’s just a bit of typing and editing but I’m really excited, I definitely need something to do that is valued outside these four walls IYSWIM. Plus the money will be good of course!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/10/2018 21:45

Aww thanks cag.

Re the seizures, yes it is, but I feel incredibly grateful that it is manageable and there is hope that she will outgrow it completely, especially when I know that, that isn't the case for many.

Please don't think what you do isn't valuable inside 'those four walls', because I am telling you now, there is no way I could have home educated my lot!
I am in awe of you at times Flowers

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/10/2018 21:46

Love that must have felt awesome!

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/10/2018 21:46

Quite we've got a Japanese Akita, he's come around now but was very down when we lost his buddy of 8 years.

Lonely that'd be too fast for me Grin

Cag I remember the excitement of last book

Spends tonight €7.34 of which 4.55 was dc pocket money & remainder was milk & a kg of spaghetti because it's price was good & it's on the shopping list I did at horse riding anyhow.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/10/2018 21:50

Just checked & nourish.ie stock revive active the supplement I take daily so I'll stock up on it before the discount code for 25% off expires because it'll save me €15 a month.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/10/2018 22:01

mammy thats a good saving.

Does anyone else have nursery ads at the bottom of their screen?

Wrongwayup · 12/10/2018 22:06

Have none of you read quite s post of 19.23 telling summer to take her health issues off the thread? Don't post much but think summer has been on years quite no idea who you are but won't support you. That to me is bullying.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 12/10/2018 22:08

Actually Wrong it was Summer who suggested it as we arent being very helpful to her .
Ive been on the thread a number of years myself.
Would you be happy for me to pm you?

Justanothermile · 12/10/2018 22:16

Wrong, I've pm'd. Please excuse the intrusion.

ememem84 · 12/10/2018 22:20

wrong bullyings a bit harsh a word I think. And I’d also say that quites post suggesting health issues stay off thread was in reaction to summers earlier post bemoaning how none of us (who are complete strangers online with (to my knowledge at least) no medical training) were helping her with her health issues. We can’t. We don’t know her in real life. Can’t diagnose anyone.

Nope curvy I have an advert for Muslim stocks and shares at the bottom of my page! I am an atheist 🤔 and have not been searching for anything related... although I have used the word “invested” in a couple of PMs today 🤔 the internet is getting scarier

And thank you that’s really kind, I do feel proud TBF, as I said earlier I do think it’s going well and I enjoy it, I think it’s just that I am missing actually working. I have always been a SAHM when my kids were this age anyway but from what I remember this feeling hit around the same time with the other two babies - the sheer relentlessness of baby care with a little monkey who is into everything, the time when it starts to be harder to get out and about (as sitting in the buggy/sling/high chair, or quietly feeding, is no longer a satisfying option for said monkey), and I start feeling a bit brain dead and like I need validation IYSWIM. With DD1 I started OU and even did an exam when DS was a few months old (they came to my house and dad sat upstairs with the baby). But I had to give up when I got too ill a few years later and also lost my job to that, so this time I feel more limited in what I can do I guess. I also really need to woman up and start my tutoring again :) but that now needs to fit around DH due to the baby.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 12/10/2018 22:47

Sometimes personalities clash on this thread like in all areas of life. It happens. Let's move on frugally together

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 12/10/2018 23:02

Cag it is probably because I said nursery a few times, but just how I had an ad for online science lessons, with regards to HE, lol!
Yes I know what you mean, it can be relentless when they are little and into everything.

I'm sorry you lost your job because of your health, I really feel that some employers need to do more, (not saying yours didn't) I've heard so many stories from friends, it breaks my heart.

I came across some early years activities the other day, I could post the link if you are interested? They range from birth to five

Cagliostro · 12/10/2018 23:58

Ooh yes please that would be great.
Employers were ok TBH. I had a lot of reasonable adjustments and stayed employed with sick pay for a comparatively long time, it’s just that when it comes down to it, library assistant work with all the shelving and lugging boxes about etc is not very chronic-illness-friendly :) I do miss it (even the customers :o) but I know it’s not right for me. And in a way I’m pleased I don’t work there now as every time I go in there it feels like something has changed, a lot of people have left and those who remain are quite sad about changes in funding/budget, workload, bureaucracy etc.

DH and I have agreed to have A Serious Conversation on Monday evening (he’s working all weekend). He even said “why do you want to write stuff down” so I explained that he is a doer and I am a planner and I need my damn plans!!! :o

WreckTangled · 13/10/2018 02:27

Gah ds woke up and now I can't get back to sleep. I made sure I didn't look at my phone for about half an hour then have up as I was bored.

ememem84 · 13/10/2018 06:55

I slept like a baby. Must be the relief of knowing a massive box has been ticked.

Now the hard work starts though. Today’s jobs:

  • clean house - it’s empty so I suspect easier to whizz round with cleaning stuff.
  • measure wall In ds’ room (the smallest wall so I can order the custom printed wallpaper.....)
  • measure for curtains
  • measure fire place hole (dh thinks he saw an old cast iron fireplace front in the recycling shop last week. Tempted to get it to temporarily pop into our new fireplace - old owners ripped it out and covered with a bit of board...)
  • order washer dryer and freezer.

It could be spendy.

I don't understand why people blocked fireplaces! We have one but it's hot a heater in front of it Angry

Wolfcub · 13/10/2018 07:18

Wreck partly it was to stop drafts I think. I think also something to do with looking wealthy from having central heating so you no longer needed a fire.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 13/10/2018 07:31

Thank you em
mammy there is no personality clash Im afraid .
It has become clear that the poster involved requires,by their own admission, some medical help and has stated that "we" as a group are not helping with any suggestions we may make-however kind and helpful the intention.

Perhaps I could have phrased it better Blushbut if thats the case then I would agree that seeking appropriate medical help in RL is the right thing to do and I hope that the poster involved is feeling better soon.
Have a lovely day Frugaleers
em you sound so happy Sad

QuiteFabULousDahling · 13/10/2018 07:32

That wasnt meant to be Sad
It was meant to be SmileSmileSmile

lifelongfrugaleer · 13/10/2018 07:45

Great news on the house em. And the mortgage lonely, and the 0% mammy.

My Collie was crossed with a Springer. You can imagine. Wish we could have another dog.

I know nothing about CFS or chronic illness so can't comment. However talk about what you want for me.

Crazy busy here. Getting lots of tension headaches.
