It would only be a couple more hours on the beginning of the shift so would not be too bad. He’s offering to fit in with delivery days as that’s when they need him, and their delivery days are better (in terms of or schedule) than the current shop. So with any luck they’ll say yes. We would need to rearrange sports club in the new year but the potential would be there to run more sessions and that’s a way bigger earner than his day job anyway. Also him being around more would make it easier for me to get back to tutoring, also earning more. So while he’d be dropping a couple of hours we could potentially be better off financially as well as reduced stress etc

I just sold ds's 1/4 violin for £50 on ebay. Feel pretty good about that. More money and less stuff in the house.

I discover recently that I can list things on ebay and have them automatically relist forever, until they sell. I'm wondering if I should do that with a load of obscure stuff and keep it all in an unused corner until it finally sells.

I managed to sell two small LED lamps that way last week that had been on ebay for months. It's £20 that I wouldn't otherwise have had.

I thought that might particularly be good for books.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/10/2018 14:51

That sounds like a good plan cag, fingers crossed.

Daize well done on the violin.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/10/2018 16:53

That does sound like a good idea summer

We have been out, had a mooch in the charity shops spent £5 on a few bits.

£19 in poundstretchers got lots of bits, toothpaste, food, stuff for Halloween, storage box....

£26 in morrisons on dairy free and veggie stuff, she has been better on a low dairy diet so will stick to it for a bit longer.

I've got my eye on some burgundy fly boots, I love them so much and might treat myself with some b day money.

LonelyOversharer · 14/10/2018 17:05

I have two M&S 20% off clothing beauty and home discount codes if anyone wants one. I think they expire tomorrow.

thistimenextsummer · 14/10/2018 17:47

Just spent half an hour sorting through boxes of oldest dd's old clothes for the little ones and moving middle dd's down to the tiny one - their wardrobes are now stocked for £0 - frugal win!

I've booked a click and collect for Tuesday but also struggling with meal ideas - please inspire me 😬

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/10/2018 17:57

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/10/2018 17:59

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/10/2018 18:02

Leftovers galore as it was only me for dinner this evening, as I cheated today & hadn't breakfast until 12 & a protein smoothie for lunch even after my roast dinner I've still got 462 calories left Smile frugal use of calories Grin

Brought home 26kg of clothes to dry and bottom washing line broke so had to use dryer for some bits Sad because I didn't want to be looking at them again tomorrow evening.

No bulb here quite here's my lovely old boy, still panned out after our 1.25 mile walk & his dinner.

I haven't had corned beef hash for ages!!!!! 😋😋! So many different ways to make - how do you do yours? Me and dh used to eat it a lot when we bought our first flat (frugal by force!) and would add cubed corned beef to a tomato sauce and serve with mash. Have no idea if this is even how to make it?!! Great idea, thank you!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/10/2018 18:14

this, I don't eat meat anymore, but I still make it for dp and the kids.
I just mash the corned beef add a tin of beans, add some salt and pepper, mix it all up, put mash on top and bake for 30 minutes.
They all love it and when I suggested doing it with onions and gravy, they turned it down Smile
I don't think it really matters how you make it, as long has everyone eats it

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/10/2018 18:16

mammy that looks lovely and lots of leftovers to make lunches, maybe?

Justanothermile · 14/10/2018 18:24

Why do you think my legs are this length quite?Grin. That jumper was a hell of a find wasn't it?

Thanks life X. I'd do a ninja Ikea shop too, I'd want to do someone harm otherwise I think.

Lovely old boy there mammy, there's something dignified about old dogs I think.

Hi there lilly. I'm sorry to hear about the anxiety, I hope the combination of meds and talking therapy help. Anxiety can be so debilitating.

That walk sounds fab this, we were out in all weathers too.

So, Dd and me had a lovely day shopping, but bloody hell I'm over fast fashion, so much tat. She bought a couple of lovely dresses and some workout trainers and some wraps for boxing. I got a work jumper.

We had lunch in a vegan cafe. Dd had nachos and chilli and I had vegan Welsh rarebit. We both had mochas and it was £14. Parking was a fiver.

I'm still full and so is Dd, DH is away again so no tea for us, maybe a slice of toast later.

Menu plan
Leftover veggie tagine/chilli with jackets.
Red pepper and chickpea soup.
Tofu stir fry.
Veggie wraps.
New potato, roast fennel and olive stew.
Veggie Thai curry.
Veggie sausage and chips.

I keep wittering about this but I am Shock at the reduction in food bill since DS went to university, it really does negate some of the money I send each month. As does no longer paying for training. It's costing less than I imagined with some planning.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 14/10/2018 18:26

These ones Lonely beautiful boots

QuiteFabULousDahling · 14/10/2018 18:39

Just a hunch JustGrin
Sounds like you had a lovely day out .
I find it so important to get out in the winter months and do stuff as I spiral down if I dont.
Trying to keep it frugal though so flasks get put to good use if we visit NT and there is always a homemade cake or scone kicking about .
Omg the difference in food cost, mess and the stuff being put back where it came from is very noticable Confused
But will be happy to see them back Smile

Bornlazy · 14/10/2018 18:50

Quite I was going to ask you if you were still using your soupmaker -glad to see you are. I use mine about once or twice a week and still love it

Can't believe how sore I still am after yesterday. I'm wondering if I have some sort of virus as I am aching all over. Think I might need to start taking a multivitamin.

QuiteFabULousDahling · 14/10/2018 18:58

YesBorn at least twice a week and will probably be more in the winter as I have to have something hot for lunch .
Iis brilliant Smile

thistimenextsummer · 14/10/2018 19:17

V quick question for quite and just - I had already found some carrots and red pepper in the fridge so they are now currently roasting with some onion and tomatoes (inspired by curvy!) - when I blitz this for soup can I add chickpeas? What other flavours do you add to yours? Thank you 🙏!

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 14/10/2018 19:19

Glad you had a lovely day with your dd jam.

Girlie, buy the boots! They are ace.

I want a soup maker, but is it worth it if I'm the only one who eats soup?

Born, I take a multivitamin and feel the difference.

mammynowanauntyIRL · 14/10/2018 19:24

I'll probably freeze in slices for dinners at another time I think curvy will have it again tomo myself, dc will be eating at h's

Lunch sounds good value jam especially if you're still stuffed. They do say teenage boys eat you out of house & home buries head in sand for 8 years Grin

Is there someone on here using organised mum method for housework?
Luckily au pair is pitching in with some cleaning now as her hours have reduced due to h having dc some afternoons. I really appreciate it, she'll get a good Christmas present this year.

Interested in replies you get about soup maker curvy although I'm leaning towards instant pot however.

Cagliostro · 14/10/2018 19:24

I’m not using mine much for that very reason. Mine makes two portions. What I need to do is get Tupperware in which to keep the second half in the fridge and zap it the next day

Cagliostro · 14/10/2018 19:26

I think it’ll be DD who eats me out of house and home TBH she has no off switch! She’s beautifully slim though and the lower end of healthy BMI. Still eats far too much sugar though if given the chance
