purplepigs · 02/10/2018 18:29

Gothefcktosleep

NSD rules.
Definitely helps hearing everyone's inputs.
I am home now for the evening so can't see me spending anything now

^Decorative plant?????? Was it a bargain though or a full price item.
^
Friends of mine went for lunch today but I choose lunch at my desk

Pennies make pounds !

RoseMartha · 02/10/2018 21:57

Purplepigs you are doing well.
I had a NSD today.

gothefcktosleep · 03/10/2018 12:27

80p on milk today

Gah81 · 03/10/2018 18:49

Forgot my breakfast at home yesterday so £1.99 on a sandwich. Otherwise a NSD today too (I had lunch with a contact today but it's on expenses so I don't think it really counts!)

Great to hear how everyone's doing. I agree Purplepigs that it really helps :)

purplepigs · 03/10/2018 19:37

Today I picked up some protein bars and ingredients for homemade chicken soup ..... so it wasn't a NSD for me today but they were a necessity as I have a stinking cold - on the plus side went to Sainsburys and avoided buying anything in the home aisle although we saw some lovely bits :-( sad face

OP posts:
RoseMartha · 03/10/2018 23:37

@purplepigs hope you feel better soon.
I had my online grocery shop delivered and I had to buy petrol. Total spend £60.

purplepigs · 04/10/2018 10:36

@RoseMartha thank you.
I feel better after my homemade chicken soup - how crazy that something so simple works so well.

I am hoping for a NSD today. Although just had a statement through that my Argos card is due...... mmmm £10.00 spent !!!!!!!!

Happy NSD everyone !

gothefcktosleep · 04/10/2018 19:30

Unexpected expense day. DH’s auntie died this morning sadly so £31 on flowers to the family.

£8.95 on a personalised santa’s Sack for the baby - saving £15 and includes P&P so bargain!

NSD Saturday for tomorrow we shop.

purplepigs · 04/10/2018 19:53

@gothefcktosleep sorry to hear that :-(
Bargain Christmas sack though!
NSD for me today.
Chicken soup for dinner ..... thinking soup might be a cheap alternative for quick dinners ...... hhhhmmmm

Thoughts?

OP posts:
gothefcktosleep · 05/10/2018 02:06

Soup lovely alternative but make sure it’s got enough stuff in it and you have bread, soup always makes me really hungry!

purplepigs · 05/10/2018 07:40

@gothefcktosleep yep! Bread is a definite.

So it's Friday of our No spend October!
Who gonna be tempted by a naughty work lunch or a takeaway after work .... ?

Anyone?

I'm failing really badly! Wednesday was a food shop so I suppose that could be classed as essential spending.
My Dad turns 65 this month so I got a couple of presents and cards for him yesterday, plus a few things that we needed like new tights and bedding.
Hoping today will be a NSD.

MismatchedStripySocks · 05/10/2018 08:17

Ooh, i’m Going to join in today. Love these threads. My office is fab for NSD as it’s literally in the middle of nowhere with the nearest shop about a mile away and I don’t drive. My previous office was in the city centre so loads of temptation. Does £5 on DS’s pocket money count as expenditure? It’s all accounted for. Other than that should be a NSD but will update.

gothefcktosleep · 05/10/2018 11:20

@purple

DH and I are on a self enforced austerity drive thanks to DD’s nursery fees. It means I’ve put a stop to our pizza takeaway nights... and replaced them with buying shop bought pizza with the big shop instead - still something to look forward to!

Although he’s demanded (joking) garlic bread tonight so my shopping list is now:

  • sweets for friend’s children as she’s giving me a HUGE bag of her DD’s clothes £5
  • Primark voucher for DNiece birthday £20
  • garlic bread 80p
  • bacon for the morning £1.80
  • part-bake bread 41p

Absolutely loving this thread. It’s therapeutic writing it all down!

We are at my mum’s tomorrow so should be NSD. Sunday we’ve been invited for a roast dinner... i’d rather go for just drinks but we haven’t seen these guys in ages so the expense is nearly justified...

gothefcktosleep · 05/10/2018 17:44

Errrrr... oh no! Spending went a little awry today.

£2 on shampoo
£5 babygrow
£6 Halloween outfit
£6 gift for friend’s little girl, £4 on sweets for her other kids, £3.50 on chocs for her

I don’t know whether to take the Halloween outfit back as we’re not even doing anything for it?!

£4 train fare

10p bottle of water in poundstretcher

purplepigs · 05/10/2018 17:45

Today we had a few home visits to do and on the way back to office my colleague wanted to pop into Sainsbury's for a bottle of water she said .... ended up coming out with a bag full. I stayed in the car and read the news instead which resulted in me spending NOTHING !!!! Lunch I brought in and ate at my desk.
After work was going to take a walk around town but decided to go home and use my time wisely and cleaned the bathrooms !

NSD for me.

OP posts:
RoseMartha · 05/10/2018 19:54

£1 i needed a sweet fix and got three bags of kiddie sweets in tesco. Only ate one bag for me though. I blame my boss as he sent me out the office 15 mins early to drop all the mail at the post office which is next door to tescos.

gothefcktosleep · 07/10/2018 19:21

Right... NSD Saturday...

Today we went for Sunday lunch. Bit mortified I didn’t realise it was going to be one of those lunches and the expected £25/30 for two of us was actually £66.60 🙄 which is just over my budget for the week going forward.

Taking back the babygrow and Halloween outfit I bought in the week as she doesn’t need them - especially after being giving a big bag of nearly new hand me downs at the weekend so that will be £11 back in the pot.

purplepigs · 07/10/2018 23:53

My no spend weekend was going so well ..... until I went into Wilko this afternoon and we spent £32 on cleaning stuff !!!!

I love cleaning so very much but it was suppose to be a no spend weekend !!!!

Are cleaning things .... and quite a lot of them - is that allowed ??????

OP posts:
gothefcktosleep · 08/10/2018 08:34

Technically they’re “needed” items??

I love a bit of Wilko but probably lucky I don’t have one near me!

Itis6oclocksomewhere · 09/10/2018 09:46

Finally had a NSD yesterday!
Today won't be one, but hoping tomorrow will be.

gothefcktosleep · 09/10/2018 10:57

Well done 6 o’clock!

I’m NSD ysdy, today, could make through to tomorrow/Thursday potentially...

Cooking mainly out of the cupboards and freezer this week as both pretty chocker.

gothefcktosleep · 10/10/2018 11:58

Right... I’m on my third NSD.

It’s running out pretty quickly as I need some food for the house 😂 we had tinned fruit for breakfast!

purplepigs · 10/10/2018 22:59

Brought milk n cereal today
Tinned fruit for breakfast.... how did that go?

OP posts:
gothefcktosleep · 11/10/2018 08:38

It needed yogurt or something... I used to eat it all the time.

I’m running my cupboards and freezer down for reasons that aren’t clear to me yet, but DH has a cold (very serious man flu) and is refusing dairy products so it’s all I had to offer him.
