I’m looking to get a card/app system that helps me manage my outgoings and heard good things about Monzo. Also, I’m going to the US in November and heard you can use it out there without charges. Does anyone have experience of doing so? tIA!

I used mine last year in Arizona and California, everyone loved the colour of it. For some reason most of what I spent was gradually refunded to me the following month Hmm

Abroad it is free of charge for the first £250 IIRC. Then they charge a small fee. When you go to a new country you get a notification with the exchange rate they will be giving you - on my last holiday in Europe a few weeks ago the rate was miles better than any cash machine or bureau.

To ensure that you get Monzos rate, when you use an ATM abroad make sure that you click “do not accept” when it asks you to accept the exchange rate.

Monzo is great, definitely get one!

I’ve never been charged in Europe or the states
