Credit card debt.

I am a carer and just lost a significant client so my salary has taken a huge dip. I won't have enough money to meet my direct debits let alone food this month or the next few until my hours pick up again.

Has anyone ever managed to negotiate a period of time when they have made no payments to their CC company? I'm afraid to contact them in case they won't help me.

Phone them. I used to work in Collections for a credit card company and we were trained to be massively sympathetic and helpful. There are many things they can do to help, especially if it's just for a short period of time. Things I didn't even realise you could do. If you ignore it you'll end up with a default which isn't great for getting future credit

Thank you. It doesn't help that I will need to use it as I desperately need to see my dentist. Ok. I will phone them tomorrow. Wish me luck.
I just find it so embarrassing. I've never been in debt like this. ☹️

Use it before you phone. If you go on a payment plan they'll block your card. It'll be ok don't be anxious about phoning they want to help.
